I'll post a video soon. The exhaust is very nice on the highway. I just need to replace the damn hangars so it won't rattle around when I'm going over bumps.

On these holset turbos can you take off the wastegate that's on them and run an external wg with them, it seems like I see them on the hot side sticking out... I'm wanting to run a synapse 50mm wg...

So anybody know how much lag the 6 blade super 40 hx40 turbo on a large streetported 13b is gonna have? I saw smogsux said he saw it around 3500rpm but I don't know his set up...

 

I running an HX40 with a fully divided Manifold and Precision WG. It starts building boost at 3k and is full boost before 4k (13.5PSI) and that is on stock ports and turbo rotors! I love it.

Sorry to revive. I'm about to dive into my external wg HX40 setup. I have an 8-blade inducer, 19cm^2 T4 divided hotside. Looking at running 1000/1600s, Megasquirt, etc. subbed

 

Should be a fun setup! I can't wait to see it! Mine has been under the knife for the past 2 years. Rebuilding the engine again with race ports, the largest pineapple templates without going bridge, 9.4:1 rotors and the HX40. Shooting for a reliable 400rwhp at 1 bar and with the rotor/porting combo this turbo should full spool before 4k RPM.
