Holset WH1E (HX40) internal wastegate question

So I have a reman reconditioned holset WH1E (Hx40) that I am going to use on my FC. I have a streetported motor. My question is, the turbo is internally wastegated but I am going to run an external wastegate. I removed the wastegate actuator. Do I have to plug up the internal waste flap even though I am going to run an external wastegate? If so how do I do this?

what you should do now is weld the flap, don't remove it.

Or just pick up a non wastegate exhaust housing. http://www.citydiesel.net/
