Well I've broken like 2/3 of the parts in my drivetrain in 2 weeks... I just (finally) blew the transmission tonight.

What's everyone doing for transmissions, and what fluid are you running?

This big turbo isn't much use to me if I keep breaking drivetrain parts!

Reason I ask is I used a stock drivetrain (except the clutch) for my 11.5. That launch was a 1.7 60 foot on ET Streets.

I'm running a stock tarnny no probs at all and poeple will tell ya i don;t baby my car. I would just get the tranny rebuilt just get the gears treated and hardened. You should be good to go for a street tranny no need to go to a heavy duty trany setup Oh and i'm making well over 450HP.

Pm me if u wanna know a good rebuilder

This is on an FC....I would assume an FD tranny can withstand a lot more abuse than an FC one.

From what I've read the FC T2 trans and FD trans are damn near the same except for one being pull type and one being push type. Power handling capabilities should be fairly similar. However, I'd expect the FD trans to be slightly tougher.

By the way rfreeman27, hows the dog box on the street?

it is crazy.

and loud.

Shifts are like a granade going off.

i love every second of it thought. I also have a sintered iron racedisc clutch. It is on/off, but once you get used to slipping it heavily and get used to the god aweful screech it makes it is a really fun clutch.

you cannot miss a gear though, and clutch use is optional (jerico told me to at the very least take some of the pressure off of the drivetrain when shifting WOT)

The car is a little nuts with twin t3/t4's and i dont care about noise or streetability. This is a fun car for me, not something I'm going to take my GF out in, eventhough she likes the vibrations

Actually I have had friends use the T II guts and rebuild their FD tranny . From my experience The T II tranny is much tougher than the FD tranny .

Just my 2 cents

I bought the trans straight from jerico. I think after all the goodies it was only 2300 bucks.

you will need a clutch, custom PPF, custom driveshaft, custom K-member and custom tin work in the cabin. You will have to talk to your local fabricator for that info.

May you should check your overall set up because my stk drivetrain holds up pretty well for 10.8 sec passes and 1.5 60 ft times...

If you don't want to hack your car to hell, there are other options that are just as strong.
