Originally they were all T3 turbine housing based (But still running a larger then t3 sized turbine wheel). It wasent till recently they started to run the T4 sized stuff, First ATP with Their open valute T4 turbine housings (which didn't offer any flow or spool up benefits over the standard t3 inlet), then A-Spec got several choices in T4 open and divided turbine (KUDOS TO A-Spec!). So no, you can't just use any standard T4 turbie housing, it must be GT35 speced, so get with A-Spec (Who has numerous T4 choices and good experiance with GT35R) or call ATP who offers 1 T4 sized turbine housing.

That would work, as long as he doesn't mind that his down pipe and disscharge pipes will be off and require re-fabbing. If he gets a T4 housing, chances are it'll be very very close to his original configuration, if he indeed ran a T4 before. If hes starting a after market turbo system now, then the T3 to t4 adapter would be a cheaper alternative. Another thing to keep in mind, if he ever does want to upgrade or even down grad but still runa full T4, he will have to re-run all his piping again, were as if he just got a T4 housing now, every thing will remain later during the turbo swap out.
