go single or not?
My stock turbos are hatin it the more I research the more crap I find that makes them work properley I have a lot of miles on turbos and components. is it worth a little more money to go single. just how complicated is it.
very complicated,,, but keep searching through the threads and you'll find all you need... and will get easier as you keep going
going single is better performance-wise at higher ranges than stock ,,, but at 300-400 whp it depends on what you want in terms of response, easy of maintenance, reliability, money, etc...

If your car is close to stock you're going to spend a LOT of cash. To properly run a single turbo, you'll need:
engine management
fuel injectors
fuel pump
intercooler
custom hot side intercooler piping
turbo kit itself
blow off valve

Yup, not only will it be VERY expensive but it turns out to be a whole lot of work. Of course, when you're done you'll LOVE it
.
Anyways, like goodfella said if you're close to stock then you have a TON of things you'll need to upgrade. Basically almost everything in the engine bay will need upgrading/replacement.
Personally, I went single because I was always having problems with my sequential set-up and I finally got sick of it. If your cars running great though and you don't want to spend a bunch of money I'd say stay with the twins. If power's what you're looking for try modding the car with the twins. If you're still not satisfied then I'd suggest upgrading. Usually, IMO it should be more of a process than a quick decision.

I want to rebuild my twins but hopefully that will solve some problems like smoke only when getting on it or bov not realising any air every so often dosn't seem to boost well when that accures. kind of stuck maby fix them for now and by things to go single over time.
Rebuilt twins... just a band-aid for a problem that will never go away. Stock twins suck.
Only a new set will make you happy and they cost enough that a single turbo conversion should be a option.

I had a TO4Z ready to go for my SP and sold it.
BNR's going on soon and it will make ridiculous power more than enough for the street.
As it stands now on stock engine and stock twins you need traction control because in a straight line in 2nd gear on semi slicks it will turn the tires hard when you get on the gas
Single is a waste of time for the street *too much power* but thats just my opinion on it ........
