Fitting thread sizes on Profec B solenoid and TiaL 44mm WG?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to convert all of my fittings to AN Braided S/S and I need some information. I'm poking around the Summit website and I'm finally ready to make the plunge, I just need simple information.

- What thread size are the female ports on the Greddy Profec B Spec II (same as Profec B) boost solenoid?
- What thread size are the ports on the TiaL 44mm wastegate? I clicked around on the TiaL website but I couldn't find anything relevant.

I assume the ports on the wastegate are NPT fittings, but what about the Profec solenoid?

Thanks in advance, I'll come back and post the answers if I discover the answers first!

this has been covered a little bit. I thought I read somewhere that the solenoid is actually british pipe thread. Yet others claim it's just regular old 1/8 NPT.

The Tial website has a spec sheet of their wastegates if you look around. I think it's 1/8 NPT as well, somebody else can chime in though.

The TiAL fittings are M10 X 1.0. The aluminum banjos they offer are nice.

Some very nice stuff in there. I like the placement of the FPR alot, also the rad seems tiltable. Your emissions removal is seamless; you barely notice it.

Just remember that the area near the turbine is very hot. Silicone hose gives you an extra margin of temperature performance over the braided lines. If you do a search you'll find stories about single turbo owners whose hoses have failed due to heat. Something to consider.

Silicone hose and zip ties fail, stainless braided and AN fittings do not.

Were the failures that you saw the zip ties failing or the silicone itself? The zip ties have a relatively low melting point, so I wouldn't expect them to last. The silicone, however, is the same stuff fire sleeve is made of, so I would expect them to survive better than the braided stainless, which has a rubber inner, with a much lower temp rating. If the barb fitting has multiple flutes on it and the silicone hose fits properly, I think you can get by without the wire ties. If not, there are stainless ties that can withstand the heat.

On my motor, I was so concerned about this that I formed hard line for oil supply and welded up hard line extensions from my banjo water fittings so the flexible line is nowhere near the turbine.

Temp Ratings:

Nylon Wire Tie (MS-3367-7-0) = 185 deg F
Aeroquip AQP Hose = 300 deg F
Silicone Hose & Fire Sleeve = 450 deg F
