Choosing the right turbo (FD)

Choosing the right turbo (FD)
I pretty much Maxed out my stock twins.. just did the 1600cc fuel system, and have all the mods to support a single (of decent size). Im looking for a non ball berring, i want to hit at least 450WHP on pump gas. i was looking into the gt4088 which is a nonbb version of the gt40r with an 88mm compressor wheel. but i dont think this turbo will be able to hit 450 on pump. can someone sugest some turbos for me to do some research on, maybe some dyno graphs. remember im on stock ports and need something that doesnt take 89 years to spool..

Two Choices Come In Mind And, If You're A Skeptic Of The Somewhat Unknown Maybe The Garrett Gt35/40 Will Be The Right Choice. If Not... Give A Look At The D&r Af61. It's Has Proven Itself By Performing Equally If Not Better Than The Gt35/40. It's Seems That All Current Users Are Very Happy With It's Performance And, Is Only Advertized $750 With A 2 Year Warrenty. I'm Sure There Are Other Choices But, These 2 Seem To Fit With What You're Looking For. Btw.. The Gt40 With It's O.t.s. Turbine Trims Seems To Spool Pretty Slow Compared The Others Above Mentioned. Good Luck Either Way.

Your right, it wont. It's good for 390 - 415 on pump. The R85 should be able to make 430-450 on pump gas.

The af61 is not a full Garrett piece and was never advertised as one. Most components are made by company that builds parts for Garrett and Schwitzer. The cover, center, and turbine are Schwitzer. An engineer directly from Garrett helped me with compressor and turbine wheel selection. The unit is non b/b. Anyway, my supplier finally has me ready for sales again.
ps.. thanks mario. i didn't know you used my p/c too?

Steve Kan made 420 @ 15 psi on an S4 with a very minor clean-up port job using the af61. This is with the stock t2 elbow, a really old greddy intercooler with 2 1/2" piping, and the stock gutted cat with it's 2 1/2" outlet.
