Check this setup

Hello guys,

I am going single with my FD3S, and I am nervous about everything going ok.

My setup is this:

Fresh rebuild motor (new housings, new '99 apex seals, etc), good street porting (Amemiya plates), HKS T04s, Power FC, GReddy Profec-B II, HKS FMIC, 4x 850cc injectors, Walbro 255 pump, SARD gas pressure regulator, GReddy pulleys, no air-pump, GReddy Aluminium radiator, HKS SSQV, Magnecore plugs, GReddy sparks, lightweight flywheel, 3in free flow catalytic convertor with external setup, GReddy 3in Power-Ti catback, more grounds, 3 bar Apexi MAP sensor.

Do I need anything more? Anything? Maybe an HKS Twin Power?

I am planning tuning my FD at 1,2 bar with pump gas. Any ideas about the outcome?

Any suggestions?
Thank you, and Merry Christmas!

There isn't a single soul exept three nice guys, that can express an opinion about this setup? Is it so good or is it so bad? Is it so common, or is it so rare?

...just wondering...

I would go with more injector... 4x850 will barely be enough for 17psi (I would say it isn't enough). I would be safe and go with the 2x550 2x1600 setup or I even the 2x850 2x1300 setup if you want to stick to pretty much stock rails. 2x550 2x1300 is still more injector than your proposed 4x850 and it is maxed out at about 400whp. I would always build some cushion into the fuel system.

One thing I would definately do is get rid of the FPD!!! remove it, drill and tap for a hose barb fitting and just run fuel line straight into the rail. With an aftermarket regulator it isn't necessary, and is a catastrophic failure point (source of engine fires).

what pressure is the SARD (static)?

I bet you will run out of fuel before you reach that boost.

but you are good for about 377rwhp @ 43.5 static fuel pressure

dubulup and I had the same idea at the same time

Also the thing you need the most of that isn't listed in your paragraph is PATIENCE!!! You will certainly run into some frustration!

Best of luck!

Yeap that what I was asking. Some nice *potential* troubleshooting. I would like to ask, since I have not yet bought the SARD, what fuel pressure regulator do you suggest?

And about the FPD I will check it right away!

With these injectors, at duty cycle ~85%, what kinda whp can I put down? Any opinions? And about the HKS Twin Power? Is it necessary?

...and guys, thank you so much. I really have great patience, but I really want to plan ahead so I am not stuck with stupid problems.

thanks again.

Aeromotive sells one that most single turbo guys in the states use, and it's adjustable.

at 85% duty, that's the power I quoted...although people have told me they run side feed injectors at 100% DC all day long, with no ill effects, would I...nope.

you could AMP the leading coil with a simple MSD 6A for a lot less and be good...but an ignition amp is a good idea while doing all this other work.

looks like you have a good start...

ok, HKS Twin Power is on the way, and so is Aeromotive FPR.

I am kinda nervous, since the tuner is planing working on an AFR that is about 10,8 at WOT. I think it is too rich.

What do you suggest? Keep in mind that I am targeting 1,2bar (17~17,5 psi) with pump gas 95 octane. Any opinions?
