Changing Intercooler Piping Size

Hey everyone, I have a Borg Warner S366 Single Turbo FD pushing 17 PSI currently. I have 3' intercooler piping on it right now and I was wondering if I can go down to 2.5' without causing any problems? I am doing this to get rid of the crapping piping I have in there now as I am in the process of cleaning up my engine bay. The Intercooler inlets are 2.5'.

Thanks for your help.

Dan
