Burning Oil on new turbo.

Not to long ago I was looking into a single turbo and talked myself into the smaller one (greddy TD06SH) for more of a street car.. but after the install (profesional) the car is buring a **** load of oil. I ran the car on pretty bad turbos for a few weeks (twins) and i think there might be a build up of oil in my intercooler perhaps and that is what im constantly burning up.. its really bad at start up, but clears eventually. Im not ruling out a possible PCV failure im just asking for some feed back on other possible causes cuz I hope to god its not the turbo!!
Thanks guys
-Andy

Only a couple things to make a rebuilt/new turbo to smoke.

Too much oil pressure into the turbo.
You can remedy this by restricting the flow.(smaller lines)

Clogged/too small return line

Blowby/PCV/Crankcase preventing proper gravity feed of return line

Easy things to test would be loosen or remove your oil cap to make the crankcase open vented.

If it still continues try the oil inlet lines.

I'm using 3an inlet and 10 an return on my S5 5turbo

I had this prob. with my t-78, i was using a good size catch can with a big 3 inch k&n crankcase filter and a -10 line from the oil filler neck (just below the cap) to the can.

Turns out this wasn't enough and oil was seeping past the piston ring seal and out on to the turbine housing.

Anyway i reverted back to connecting the PCV line back and ran a line to the intake on the turbo from the other nipple on the filler neck, basically same as stock set-up.

No more leaks or smoke.

I'm using -4 feed with a further restrictor and a -12 return.

I also tried it with the filler cap off when diagnosing the fault, this didn't help.

Seems the stock system can't vent quick enough without vacuum helping it out, at least in my case with a new T-78 thats what happened.
