Thumbs up Budget V-Mount intercooler

I would like to share some photos of RS Panthera intercooler. What you are looking at are 2 OEM 3rd gen cores welded together. From what I can tell the 3rd gen core was not the problem, it was the size and end-tanks. Note how ingenious RS Panthera made them work. Nice job. I thought that this might be helpful in these times.

Not bad, I remember a few years ago talking with a forum member on here from ohio about setting up a v-mount with the same layout, nice to see someone did it.

intercooler core from ebay would be cheaper, its not like it has to be a name brand either, especially at that size.

Again, you can make your own.

You could use an ebay fmic of the right size (measure your bay and how much room you hvae to work with FIRST) and modify the end tanks (if you need to) according to how you want to run your piping.

If you dont have a tig welder or aluminum mig, go ahead and start making phone calls and getting price quotes. Ask to be present for the work if you can so you can show them EXACTLY what you want.

It should not cost more than $250-300 to buy the core and have someone else do the work.

If you're crafty and resourceful, it can be done for $150-200.

Since we all have FD's shouldn't it be possible for there to be a V-mount writeup with a standard core size and recommendations for end tanks. and tubing. Brackets for moving the radiator and the A/C lines?? I mean I would do it, but I suck at Fabrications. If someone wants to make one I'm all about that, and I'm probably not the only person that would appreciate it.

My old boss did something similar to a core, the amount of time spent just wasn't worth buying a properly sized core with endtanks setup the way you wanted from a manufacturer like Griffin, not an eBay core.
