If that's the point of view you took from Barry's post, then you have a very negative way of looking at things. You have to fail to succeed. Also sitting on the sidelines while you wait for someone else's results doesn't cost you any money.

Don't speak I know just what you saying

So just please stop explainin

Don't tell me cause it hurts

No. Based on the situational context (posted directly after I thanked Rich) and Barry's historical support for HC, it's pretty apparent that he posted that up as a goad hoping to incite an argument.

I ignored him because I've got better things to do than get goaded into a fight right after getting back from my unjust ban.

No, you really DON'T need to "fail to succeed"... all this stuff has already been discovered, experimented with, proven and disproven. Failing to learn from others past mistakes doesn't make you a pioneer, it makes you a person who failed to learn from others mistakes...

And honestly, those others (who don't know any better) that sit on the sidelines and follow the example/advice of one who repeatedly fails to attain success and results probably WILL lose money in the process.

Obviously everybody has their own opinion, and being able to express those opinions is GREAT!!! But there comes a point in time where peer review is necessary in order to overcome the cycle of repeated failures. When the opinion of the critic is beaten down and silenced than honest growth cannot occur. Supporting people who try is great, but sometimes it's better to step back and question their logic, prompting them to view the problem from a different angle. When that opposing viewpoint is censored, buried, deleted, and banned, then you've got a serious problem.

How can you say this knowing very well that the turbo in this thread has spool characteristics never before seen on a rotary with the power levels it could produce? Also where is all the results that have already been discussed and proven when it comes to this particular turbo on a 13b? These turbos are uncharted territory for members here. When your working with something that spools this fast, your tuning learning curve starts all over. I wouldn't be surprised if some people accidentally blow their engines dealing with there responsiveness. I'm NOT saying this is what happened to Howard.

I'm no tuner, but I've seen MANY different tuners, from different countries, work.. How do you figure that somebody will blow an engine because a turbo spools quickly??

If that were the case than I think we'd have experienced those losses on the stock twins.

ANY tuner that starts from a completely blank slate and tries to tune within a razors edge of safety on the first pass probably will pop engines, but the fault won't lie in any particular turbo, the cause of the popped keg will lie in the tuner....

Honestly that's like saying that we should expect wide-spread engine losses by people switching over from a PFC to something like the AEM Infinity, Haltech Elite, Syvecs S8, Life Racing F88, etc., etc., etc... Because these ECU's are on a level that we've never seen before...

Just because a component has a higher capability than it's predecessors does NOT mean that the people using it should be expected to screw it up... If you're incapable of managing the more efficient tools than the loss of an engine is a result of user error, nothing more.

The only turning experience I have is self taught with my own engine. Also the stock twins aren't making 25+ psi below 3,500rpm. Hopefully someone with alot more experience will chime in.

So where's all the results from the haters.............

Opinions are like a$$holes. Just because you got one doesn't make you special.

Put YOUR money, time and skills where you mouth is and post up your results or sit down and shut up

HC has logged on and has yet to post anything to this thread. Now all the speculation and conversation about it is getting people banned. Moderators should just PM him, if he doesn't respond or plan to add any more info to this thread they might as well close it and let him start a new one.

So what you are saying is every tuner is going to start their base tune at 25+ PSI? In reality no they aren't they are going to start with a base tune then work up from there. You do not have to fail to learn if you did you would be dead as you would have failed at life to have learned how to speak, and walk.

Thats how tuning is done start at the beginning don't push 25+ PSI and expect anything other then failure.

Just how when you where born you didn't fly out running like Usain Bolt. Understanding a little better or just ignoring everything?

I don't understand why you attack everyone you should take my advice and just let them speak for themselves.

Yes haters for explaining a little about Logical Tuning Theories in hopes people like you who just come in and attack and toss insults learn something.

You are also cursing which is against the rules and being insulting telling people to shut up.

Take some of your own advice. We don't need numbers and graphs to be logical.

You are the ones who have labeled us as HATERS and attacked us in hopes bumpstart would ban us. Well the forum has changed for the better and we are now allowed to speak. Honestly all of your attacks on others behalf are not wanted anymore. If you have an issue take it to PM.

We are allowed to speak without being attacked.

No it is his followers who needlessly attack, defend, and deliberately incite thread derailment who are causing the problems in hopes of getting us banned for stating facts and truth. Who cares about HC its history. None of the comments have been about HC Tvon brought up HC before I got banned not me. He just had a Xmod who was not objective in his Moderation and abused it. Why do you think I am back from a lifetime ban?

We are simply correcting illogical statements and we are allowed to do so as it pertains to the EFR 9180. It is also a service to the entire community.

Now back to talking about the EFR 9180 and all that pertains to it.

Love you guys!

I'm fairly certain that t-von and I were having a civil discussion, so there is no need for you to come in here guns blazing.

If your only intent by posting here (after a three month sabbatical) was to instigate a fight than I would encourage you to take your frustration to PMs, your personal insults have no place in this thread.

That being said, your statement about opinions not making anybody special could very easily be said to reflect your own opinion.

I have learned to have a healthy dose of skepticism after losing multiple engines to the ineptitude or inattentiveness of self proclaimed "professionals". That being said, I HAVE put my money into myself and my own efforts. I've got an engine that I built sitting in my garage waiting to go into my car. Questioning things that don't seem right is a good thing, anybody that tells you otherwise is just trying to hide something.

There is also nothing wrong with admitting when you don't know what you're doing. It's a sign of integrity. I don't tune, I can't weld, and I don't do electrical/wiring. I'm not going to premise what I say with thinly veiled pronouncements that I'm some kind of guru, I'm just a guy who has been screwed over a lot in the past.

There are thousands of threads on this very forum that have unfinished results, yet no one is saying lets close it because the OP stopped posting. Why should the mods treat this one any different? If we had paid for this info then I could understand the frustration of not getting what we paid for. Not one of us has paid Howard for any of this info yet, some of you seem really upset he's hasn't responded? There are build threads in the 3rd gen section that haven't been updated in months and NO ONE is saying "hey maybe they should close that thread and start a new one".

Perfect example you could have just not responded to that. There was no reason to go on the defensive about what was posted it was not directed at you in any way.

Every post you made in this thread to me. If you would like to talk about it further and not derail this thread that you have attacked multiple people about doing the exact thing feel free to PM me.

In fact don't respond to anything I say or PM me I am done talking to you. Don't worry I don't feel the need to attack people so you won't have to worry about defending yourself.

Back on topic please.

Take your own advice. Today I quoted 427 and fendamonkey to try to gain an understanding and discuss their point of view. You butted in on every single post of mine today when I wasn't even quoting you.

Now you want to bring up our discussion from nearly a month ago? Your being childish and holding on to a old grudge let it go.

Ummm all of my post from todays date have been on the subject of this turbo discussion. That was until you decided to troll every single post of mine when I was quoting other members. How about you let them respond to my questions?

Take this to PM as I stated earlier you are further proving my point with this attack yet again.

I will touch on your statement of you attacking me nearly a month ago to derail the thread and make me look like the bad guy as you are doing yet again with this statement. Yes it was a while ago as I was unfairly banned. Oh and it is You're being childish. Now if you could quit derailing the thread please.

Back on topic.

Brain Fart....

Gamma-Ti Turbine wheel: BorgWarner says that the EFR's turbine wheel is "the most exciting technology"of the EFR system. BorgWarner chose to use a newer

exotic metal for the Turbine wheel, it is called Titanium Aluminide(Gamma-Ti), and it is very trick. This metal is a compound that mixes the best qualities of both metals and gives the wheel higher temperature capabilities over either metal alone. On top of that, it is much stronger than aluminum. Another big point is that it is about 1/2 the weight of a normal turbine wheel, this really reduces the inertia which is very noticeable on wheels larger than 64mm

Thoughts on this? Reliability?

From what I am reading this thing is BA! Is there a matching compressor wheel or just the FMW with extended Tip.... Any benefits to that?

Curious how the response of 9180 will be in comparison to the 8374. At the same time I really want to see the power curve of 2 rotor 9180 iwg w/ a Semi PP.
