^lol, I'm not really planning on competition anytime soon. and if I do, I don't expect it to take me anywhere. I got this engine off my brother who got it with his s5 but he didn't need it so wanted to just give it to me. I gave him $100 for it though. donated me his t2 trans after he sold his car though.

Apparently none of you have driven an n/a-t setup. Even with the TII LIM portmatched to the 6 port block (running with the aux "wired open) the low end is still better than a turbo engine (S4 at least, 8.5 CR rotors are trash for low end). Add to that boost comes on faster and harder with n/a rotors and for 300-350 whp you'd be hard pressed to beat it.
Agreed: Exp>>>theory. As an armchair "tuner" (<-Giant sarcastic air quotes), I just don't get 'why' it works. I've driven with the 6-ports open and it noticeably sucked. I've driven an s4 TII with and without the twin-scroll and I'm unimpressed below 3k. Yet, yourself and quite a few others attest to it working very well, so there's definitely something to it. And it's a good sign because turbo engine parts are growing more and more scarce.

Now I'm just jealous of your deals! Sorry I came off a bit douchey. You are free to do as you wish, I just wanted to offer a suggestion that may help you save some time/money and actually enjoy the car. Instead of having a project that ends up sitting because it always needs work.

^its fine dude. still running my stock na motor until I can rebuild the t2 motor. no funds. the t2 is completely torn apart, how I got it so I want to do a full rebuild (including the metal o rings and things), new oil pump and water pump. might want to put power steering in too with an mr2 electric pump. my car is an 86 sport so I don't get abs,pwr steering, no sunroof, wiperless hatch. Planning for a v mount as well. now if only someone could "donate" a t2 rear end and driveshaft, I'd be set except for the rebuild.lol
