Boost controller conneted right but still getting boost and it's off?

Hey as some of u know I just installed a single turbo, looking throught all the post on the forum for quick answers I got nothing, Here goes I got the boost controller connect correct I went for a test drive today to feel the car out before boosting, however when gunning it I got boost instantly and and I noticed it went to passed 12 psi. The boost controoler I have it's a greddy profec b, and this how I installed per greddy instruction, NC to turbo pipe to intercooler (my I/c pipe already has the nipple) and com to top of the HKS wastegate, and side port of the wastegate to UIM nipple,
What am I missing?
Thanks
Khris

you're boost controller will not let your run any less boost then what your wastegate spring is, or if your setup has boost creep.

you said your set up is new but i'll throw this out anyways. the flex pipe that should be coming off your wastegate has a lifespan. after so many high temp heat cycles it will fail. and usually ends up balling up in the pipe preventing your WG from helping you at all.

the wastegate has a spring inside, and will boost build to its spring pressure when the controllers off, and will never boost less than the spring is set for. most wastegates have different springs so you can set your "base boost" not sure the hks base pressure, sounds like all is ok.

I guess I am goona have to figure out on how to swap wastegate spring or swap the entire wastegate only problem is that xs engineering manifold has a 4 bolt tube for the wastegate and most setup is v-band, my main thing if even thought the boost controoler is off will the turbo still be able to built boost?

yes. if your boost controller is turned off it should behave the same as if it's not there at all. my car has 3 boost settings with my HKS. i can't imagine that you greddy is any different.
controller turned off it runs on wastegate spring 10psi
controller on low boost is 12psi
controller on high boost is 15psi

is your manifold cast iron or stainless steel?

You cannot run lower boost then the eg spring. If you don't want it to boost you have to take off the Turbo....

or uncap a vac line, or put in a super restrictive filter.

What is your boost controller exactly? The old Profec B doesn't have a solenoid with COM, NC, and NO ports. It has a stepper moter with "IN" and "OUT" ports. The Spec II has a solenoid with the ports you described. Do you have the Spec II?

Well since I just put the turbo system in I want to do a quick test to compare it to my BNR stage 3 non seq setup. I also did not want to go beyond 10 psi, and I am not that qiuck to let off the gas, however since I can't the spring and rather play it safe than sorry I goona get it retune for the new system. I wish we good lcoal tuner's in NJ.

khris you need to fix that hotpipe! also you can test the wastegate to see what spring is in it but its probably a 1kg or 14.2psi spring. mine was the opposite... has a very weak spring in it

Hot hotpipe? I am not sure if u mean open wastegate dump? But I have plans for Ito to replumb it back to the downpipe, now about the spring it's pretty tuff cause I try to put it back in last night and holy **** been under the car and try to force it and put bolt back in is no fun or I am just weak, I know for sure it's strong.
Thanks,
Khris

that pipe off the turbo with two 90 degree couplers, get that pipe modified so its a straight shot to the intercooler

its not fun getting the wastegate back together. its easiest to use a c-clamp....
