best port for GT35R T3 1.06
best port for GT35R T3 1.06
Need your advice on what would be the best port to use with my GT35R T3 1.06.
The car will mostly be used on the Ring, you know the one in Germany.
Will need as much midrange power as possible, with a nice torque curve.

OP, if you have to run the T3 frame 1.06 and are looking to get the most out of your ports I would suggest cleaning up the closing edge of the primary ports on the intake, (remove the lip). On the exhaust port match the sides to the sleeve and only port the bevel off of the bottom. You will see nice improvements with this with no noticeable losses. If you wish to be even more conservative just remove the bevel off the sides.
Your biggest issue will be heat using a 62mm discharge and a T3 volute, you can get away from some of this with 3.5" DP and either a very well placed single gate or dual gates at the first bend on the manifold. But I wouldn't be too surprised at how hot everything will get running that turbine on a track. You would be much better off with a step up to the next size.

(Not picking a fight just making sure others know) The T4 1.06 divided housings are full T4 volutes. I initially had them cast through George at ATP years ago. The undivided "T4 inlet" housings that come in .8 A/r are the ones with the T3 volute.

Can you sell me one of your housings if this is the case?
No, at this point Garrett has made them available through them now as well. If you already have a 35R then you can get it through ATP, Elliot, me, whoever. If you don't already have a 35R I would suggest something with a larger turbine discharge on a track car. You can offset the loss in response by running a tighter A/r. Ideally in most cases it is better to run a larger discharge and smaller A/r as opposed to a smaller discharge with a larger A/r.

i missed the mid range part. that t3 would be better for spool anyways.
