BadAss <------- turbo idiot....tell me what you think about this turbo

I've been trying to figure out what it the hell kind of turbo is gonna go on my lawn ornament. I don't know dick about turbo sizing, compressor maps, etc....soooooooooooo

I need help from you pros. My goal is 500rwhp, although not mandatory. I know it takes alot more than just a turbo to get me there, but of course I need a turbo that is capable of that. For some reason I just dont want to go with the GReddy kits like T78 or whatever. I want to buy everything individually.

Okay...I also was thinking of going with a BB turbo. What kind of HP figures could I obtain from this turbo...

Model - GT30
Turbocharger part No - 704867-0003
CHRA Part No - 700177-0015
Hsg. A/R - 0.70
Wheel Trim - 56
Model - TO4S
Wheel Dia - 2.25/3.00
Horse Power - 550
Comp Flow lbs - 55
Hsg. A/R - 1.06
Wheel Trim - 84
Wheel Dia - 2.16/2.36

I know the chart here says 550 hp....but I'm pretty sure thats for a boinger motor....aren't the HP ratings vastly different for a rotary??

Thanks for any info,

Hey Badass

I myself tend to stick with garrett turbos, there is an infinite number of combinations you can run for different turbos from them...

500rwhp... I would go with a T66, with a P trim and 1.00 a/r. They are excellant turbos and have amazing efficiency when at higher boost levels...I can get one for you if you are interested, pm me.

Hi Badass,

I'd suggest using something like a GT30/40 instead of the smaller GT30 you mentioned

CHRA 700177-0014

or a GT35/40 (700hp version) with CHRA 706451-0005

I run a GT30/40 on my car, has run 10.8@130mph will run 135+mph once I get my suspension sorted.

It is awesome on the street as it has a low boost threshold, and minimal lag. it makes excellent midrange power and doesn't drop off at the top. My engine is currently making 550+flywheel horsepower (which is pretty close to your 500rwhp goal)

Hope this helps!

Paul,
would you happen to have any info on those Powerstroke turbos? I know they are a TP38, they run backwards (what I was told), a little smaller than a T04, 1.15A/R turbine and a 1.10A/R compressor. I have been looking for maps etc, but no-one seems to help. I have one on my truck (Powerstroke), and it looks like it should fit a rotary.
Don.
