We have done over 600HP on a $150 ebay intercooler and a $1800 Greddy intercooler. Take your pick

PWR Liquid-to-air intercooler FTW Are you looking for an air-to-air unit only? More importantly, is this a street, track or drag car? For a drag car, you don't even need an intercooler if you go with meth injection

Where in the world did you get that?? Meth injection alone is not enough to go without an intercooler. All methanol used as fuel only, yes.

i went on a different route which i believe is superior (only if ur running the car on the street)

and quite cheaper than 1800$
https://www.rx7club.com/good-businesses-233/circuit-theory-797407/

Keeping the bumper support and the intercooler is not showing so no police hassle. Of course all these matter if u planning on running it on the street

I built a custom one from a Spearco core. There's some shitty ebay ones but you'd have to be an idiot to get sucked into them. Just pay attention to your area constraints and pick an end-tank design that will make your life easier.

You'll likely come a cross two main types: 1) Bar and plate 2) Tube and fin. Each has their advantages and disadvantages, but that's dependent on your situation. If you want me to discuss it I will but the main point is that bar and plate retains a temperature longer than tube and fin. This can be a good thing and a bad thing...

eBay for sure. Never a problem with intake temps or pressure drop in my 20B roadrace car using a $70 32x12x3" cooler.

thanks for all the replies that helped alot. the car will be street and drag for those who asked. im trying to stick with air-to-air. how do you guys do with water temps with above coolers? i live in the south and it gets nice and toasty during the summer! i know the radiator has alot to do with it, but say if i made my own front mount would it be better to keep the stock rad location or make it vertical?

I've also seen the same with the thicker core ebay intercoolers. I have the larger greddy 3 row.

Precision Turbo offers a IC that appears made for the FC. It's not too pricey either. They're usually on Ebay. IMO a good way to buy an inexpensive IC without worrying about it's quality. I forget the dimensions but it "looks" a lot like what Rx7_Nut13B posted above. The only difference is that I mounted it with the inlet and outlet at the bottom since the car had the stock oil cooler.

This worked for me just fine and still leaves full airflow to the radiator.
