T88

anybody got a T88....or something bigger...i'm looking to get something easier to rebuild....my T51SPL is fried and it's gonna cost me a bunch of money to rebuild it....any sugestions for a turbo with the same or greater flow that's easy to rebuild and not $10000000

Look for a standard Garrett T-series turbo. T-72, T-70 etc...

Also TA45, TA51. Standard Garrett products are cheaper / easier to have rebuilt than Mitsubishi or HKS turbos.

HKS turbos are Garret turbos, T51SPL shouldnt be that expensive to get rebuilt compared compared to a T88, unless its dual ball bearing, and if you bought a dual ball bearing one, I would think you could afford to rebuild a $4,000 turbo. The T51 SPL is a better turbo than the T88 from what I have read.

Thanks....HKS is saying that it is about $500 to rebuild it. I would like something with a little more topend anyway.

$500 is about standard for a rebuild, although the last time I rebuilt a turbo was a Mitsubishi Spec 2 years ago and that was $450 I think, I think the HKS SPL compares to a T88 as far as top end, ask Resource he had a K27, T88 and switched to a T51R KAI and likes it a lot better. Ernie what are the specs on the TV-45?

Send it to Kevin at AGP turbo. They rebuild the BB center sections for a reasonable price.

Yes they can. Plus their customer service is absolutely the best I have ever encountered.... anywhere.

The tv45 is a large frame garrett turbo. I have used them in the past on my car to make up to 640rwhp with no nitrous.

The turbo is Demetrios's. I was selling it for him so any questions would be directed to him.

Didn't it come with a (crap) HKS mushroom filter?

WTF kind of debris did you suck into the turbo to damage it? Rocks? Towels? The main reason for running an air filter is to keep stuff from getting sucked into the engine, i wouldnt think just a bit of dust would ruin your turbo but i guess its possible.

Unless I missed something here, Diaperboy doesn't even own an FD, let alone one with a T51SPL. After that Ferrari "kill," I've gotta wonder......

I believe its very possible he owns an FD, and he might have embellished a bit in a kill possibly, or maybe it actually happened, I wasn't there but DiaperBoy's credibility is questionable.

Yea in one of this guys other threads he also claimed to have 680hp. I love how people can just put down 680+ hp and in his 2 other threads in this section he asks what is a bigger turbo and other **** like that. DiaperBoy im callin that *** out and maybe im wrong and ill feel like a f**king idiot, but show a dyno sheet or shut that mouth. Ive been into like 4 or 5 different posts and he cant seem to keep BS from coming out. Look bro your not impressing anyone by lying about almost everything(and i think everyone else agrees that no one believes you) so if you want help on a particular question you have, cool, but dont just make up **** and waste space on a good forum.
Not trying to be an *******, i just call it as i see it.
