Anyone ever seen something like this?

It is just something I did while I was bored. Thought it actually looks kinda good and I wanna do it. Make the back end match the Del Slow basically.

You are hardly the first to think of this but you could still be the first to actually pull it off.
There have been several attempts that seem to have petered out at various stages of the project; I imagine it's far more involved than it looks.

Dang, yeah I figured I might not be the first. I was hoping to maybe take the frame from a busted rear window and use that as the base. Next summer project, this winter JDM Rebuild and Swap.

There have been two approaches to this project, Truckasaurus is an example of the first (and looks much like your pic).
He used the flat rear cab window from a pick-em-up and built a bed behind it.
A FC based El Camino, as it were.

This aesthetic makes more sense to me than the long, NSX-ish rear deck you drew.

The second method uses a regular coupe body rear glass/surround (like a 240SX or something).
The glass curves much further into the rear decklid and gives a better side elevation, IMO.
It'd be more like a standard FC convertible but you may be able to get away without a trunk opening (which would save a whole bunch of metalfab). If you did want an opening, grab a vert rear clip and harvest the whole trunklid and surround structure to graft into your coupe.

Whichever way you go, sealing is going to be the main issue.

The red hatch in that link looks like a foxbody from the rear.

I am pretty jealousy, of it being done proper. Truckasaurus would be too raw for me I think but I really like blue one.

There was a few company's back in the day in the mother land that made such hatches. They do look good with the right paint color . But from what I've read it's poor visibility . The trex is a class of its own lol I remember when that build first started hacking away

That purple car looks like they just vinyl wrapped the opening after taking the window out.

looks like a hardtop vert, not sure how to feel about it.

i'd probably save myself the headache and buy an NB.

then you'd actually have a vert, and about a hundred hours of your life intact.
