2nd owner and drives great. Car used to be the same color as your car Dj, but was painted black. It has maroon interior though, wierd color combo. $2400...good deal? Gianni, as soon as your married, that car is half her's. Why get married? Thats old school!!!!!!!!! Besides, its liberatating to answer to noone but GOD
Eli I'd have to see pics and know more about the car but that sounds a little bit steep to me, but not too far off. I don't know about the blue/maroon combo, that doesn't seem right! Are you sure it wasn't silver? If it was an el cheapo paint job you should be able to tell pretty easily what it used to be.

All you have to do is open the doors, hood and hatch and there it is. Light blue, and the guy that has the car told me that his sister bought the car in 85 and drove the car till 95. Parked the car for almost 10 years while she drove something else, He bought it and started driving it as a daily driver (go figure) then a few weeks ago he purchased a Chrysler Sebring Vert and decided he didnt want the poor 7 anymore. I drove the car and its strong, the only thing I noticed was about 11/2" of play in the steering. I have pics on my phone, but cant get them on my PC .... some BS anyways I really would like to have the car, but I want the vert more because it really is perfect. Speed be damned, Top down fun and I know I can get at least $3,000 out of the Miata.

Wow, I imagine that color combo would be right damn ugly! Anywho a cheap repaint would def. take some off the value of the car, at least to me it would. The steering play is pretty typical, no surprise there. It sounds like you've got your heart set on the vert anyways, huh? Got some pics of that?

No... Unfortunantly, Im still low tech. The car belongs to my friend Steve. The car was purchased new by a man who was very meticulous. The car was garage kept its whole life. The man had Lukimia (spelling?) and the last time he went into the Hospital for an extended stay, he brought the car to Steve for safe keeping. Gave him the car and title with the instructions that if something was to happen while in the hospital, that he is to sell the car, and donate tha money to Luk research. And that is what Steve is going to do. 1990 RX-7 Vert, Black w/ black top and black leather. Looks like it did new, and I cant see myself without it. If I can possibley pull it off I will buy both the 84 and the 90 vert. Damn, I need rehab for 7 fever LOL

No, The car has not been advertised to the public yet. It is in Asheville in Steve's garage. He is saving the car for me, till I can come up with the money. Not to much longer now, (Credit Union). He is asking $4500 for the car, which sounds kind of steep till you see it. 102,XXX K Which I would not even consider except I have trust Steve 100% as he has always helped me when needed and never steered me wrong. And he doesnt need the money and its going to a good cause.
Plus I get a Great car to boot

Masin, I was actually talking about Eli's new dream car... I was just messing with him acting like I was going to snag it from him. But I'm not serious about buying any other vehicles right now. Lacy would hang me up by my toe nails if I did. Maybe once we get the RX8 paid off...

Ok so I got the air dam on, I have mixed feelings about it. The color is off a little and I'm not very happy with the fitment either. But then again, I did it! So anyways, I guess I can take it off if it bugs me too much. What do you guys think about it?

I think we could match the color better, as far as fitness, well nothing double sided tape wont fix. But honestly, I loved way the the car looked without. But thats just me. If you like the look, we can fix it.

Does need some sort of lip kit, to continue the profile the length of the car. +1 to a some lowering. But the the whole appearance is simply a matter of taste.

The rest of the kit is ??? I just bought the air dam solo. It meets right at the bottom of the fender so nothing is lower on the body than it already was. It does have double sided tape already, although it holds about like granny's bladder on a long road trip. A couple more screws would probably do the trick. As far as the paint, I spent probably double what I paid for the dam trying to match the freaking car. What a SOB that was. This blue is a honda color and its actually pretty close to my bumper cover which is a little lighter than the body. I couldn't match the body for ****! The light hits it one way and its a light purple, another and its light blue, impossible! Like I said I have mixed feelings about it. BTW lowering it is one of the possible goodies I was talking about doing b4 the meet. I can't decide on RB or Eibach springs, both will lower it about 1" and I don't want to go any lower than that. The Eibachs are progressive and are just a little more expensive but both are around $200. I am also going for the RB front sway bar. I can get the RB springs and f&r sways as a package at a slight discount for about $500, but I don't know if I really nead the rear adjustable sway bar. Decisions, decisions. And then I've got a GM 140 amp alternator on the way, and my e brake cable for the lsd rear will be here next week hopefully, then I have to rebuild the calipers, get new rotors and pads blah blah blah. I've got too many projects I want to do and not enough time!

With the lights up it looks like a face!
"It takes $50 to fill my tank!?"

you know a good paint store that sells automotive paint can produce an exact match for you, right?

Thumbs up

No I didn't, that makes way too much sense for me to have done that. I got the paint at a parts store (dupli-color). Do you know of any specific ones that you would recommend? I will be in the upstate this weekend jacking a 13B REW from Gianni's FD, so I could check it out then. Thanks!

Any respectable bodyshop will be able to duplicate the color, just don't go to Bubba's Body and Bumpers or something like that. I also think that it would look better if it was molded into the front bumper, but you may not want to go that far.

Yea DJ, I was about to say what was already said. Have someone from a respectiable paint store / body shop match the color. Heck, when you come up here we might be able to have the person who painted my car do it.

Yeah I know I could take it somewhere and have it painted but that takes away all the fun of doing it yourself at twice the cost and 3x the time.

I wasn't suggesting letting him paint it... I was talking about matching the color.

And you would be surprised how inexpensive this guy is to paint... did my whole car for under 2000, and that included paint, putting on the 99 front bumper, banging out a few minor and major dents, etc.

Oh and DJ... don't party too hard on Friday... just an early reminder!
