Hey P-R-N...

Yeah man that was me....havik. Good to hear that you got it up and running.
I will try and touch base with you on here and see about maybe going to that next meet. I think my driveshaft is going.....again. I just need to go ahead and buy an aftermarket DS this time.
Anyway, catch up with you man.

i am down with at least one whoring post to get us to break 100.

hope everyone is doing well this week. i am still waiting on my damned part for the FD. I did go ahead and order the Greddy pulleys and elbow for added engine bling and "performance." The pulleys will come in handy since I ripped out my air pump a couple of months ago and the other day when I first cranked the car engine I'd spilled some coolant on the belts and the damned water pump pulley wasnt even spinning til i revved the engine. If I ever figure out what I am gonna do about another car, I will be able to move on with the modification process. Probably, Tein Flex Coilovers up next. Unless I decide I just can't wait for the PFC & Commander.

Gotta get her something nice for our anniversary coming up in November.

Was that enough whoring?

Yeah, i guess i need to post since i haven't in a while.

Johny, eveything looks good, where did you get that radiator cover at, that thing is sweet!!!

Josh, give me a call when you wanna go see that red S5.

Ya'll might be wondering what i have been up too. I have been putting Tylers motor together. Got it together but had to order the right spacer to correct the end play for the e-shaft. Also had to order a few other misc. gaskets and o-rings. They told me it would take 7-10 days to get all the stuff to me.

I don't know if anybody knows this or not, but the buyer of the infamous red TII that Dave and myself have been trying to sell for the past couple of months backed out. The good news is we have the title for the car now. Badnews was that the car was over at there house and they burnt up the clutch. SO it has a new clutch in it now. Still asking $2500 for it. PM me if anybody is interested.

I did get that car down in Georgia. Had a heck of a time gettting it back because i had it on a tow dolly and one of the tires was about to blow out and kept loosing air. Had to stop about every 30 minutes to put air in it and couldn't go over 65 mph. Finally got the car back though. Car needs a new fender and front bumper, somthing that i wasn't aware of when i went to pickup the car. Car dosn't have coilovers or RB exhaust. It does have the RB header but the catback is a Walker-Dyno max. Motor has zero compresion on front rotor. Will be rebuilding that as soon as i get some of these other projects rapped up.

Still have my old white TII sitting over here at my house. I have the clutch and the rear diff mount, but haven't seen the light weight flywheel yet. Should be here by monday from what i have heard.

Grand Drive_In Rotary Rally for this year?

We need to get something going on a Grand Drive_In Rotary Rallyfor this year. Organize something that can bring all the guys that have attended the drive-ins this year together for a cookout and rally. We can get cookout and rally planned for Jordan Lake or Falls Lake or some other gathering place and make it a time for everyone to meet everyone that has participated in the drive-ins this year. Maybe we could invite the guys up from Jacksonville, Havelock, Cherry Point that have been talking about making it up and just have a big rotarian celebration.

I need some feedback concerning what's the best time to try and schedule this and where y'all would want to gather. Who is interested in helping with getting this together and contributing some ideas? Also what is a decent price to charge for a catered pig picking or cookout, is $8 - $12 too much?

I began this idea of the Raleigh Rotary Drive-Ins back in May with the question " What do you call a gathering of rotary owners?" Someone responded that such a group should be called a Pride. After what we all have experienced and created in Raleigh I think rotary Pride is exactly what I've seen and experienced at our meets. I have thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship and have learned a great deal about my car and the other RX7s and RX8s. But what I've enjoyed the most is meeting and being a part of a group of very diverse people who share a love of their cars and a respect for the passions and interests of their fellow rotarians. I'd just like to thank each of you for your contributions to the success we've all experienced this year and the generosity of everyone and your willingness to share your knowledge with all of us.

Now, speaking of sharing, I invite everyone to jump in on this Grand Rotary Rally and offer your ideas, suggestions, and input on how to make this event a worthy celebration of what we all have accomplished since May.

Bert

well my dad works for US food service so we can get any kind of food we need in bulk, at cost, which should help out a lot. If yall wanna go that route i just need to give him about a week or so notice and a list of what we want.

I think $10 would be a good price, or maybe $15 if we could get some shirts made. I'm defintiely up for this, we should get a separate post going and make it a sticky and try to make it an NC rotary thing. If we are going to do it, we need to start planning now.

Hey guys, there is a white S5 n/a at the shop (campus auto on hillsboro) that came in last night.

Blown engine, think it might be a coolant seal, but its white on black, and interior is in VERY nice condition. The exterior is pretty damn good too, could use a good buffing though. It's 100 percent stock.

I'm almost certain that the owner will not have it repaired. I've spoke with him a few times... he doesnt even have the cash to have it towed back to his house.

Anybody sound interested? If anybody is, I'll tell him there's a few guys looking to buy it possibly, and the such.

If nobody does, I probably will and part it out. I could use the cash.

Stop by any time this week to check it out if you like. Compression was around 25 psi on the front rotor... never even checked rear. That said enough as it is.

I just talked to Dave a couple of minutes ago. He offerd to have everybody over the following weekend (weekend of the next meet). He said he will have to check with his parents and make sure it is ok, but he said they should be cool with it. This will be a great weekend cus all the trees are starting to turn and it will be beautiful. If you have never been out in his area, it looks very similar to being in the mountains. Very beautiful and quite. Anybody interested, or is this too quick?

Steve, I can't recall the condition of that TII. What's the deal on it? I would probably be interested now that you have the title. LMK. I will give you a buzz about that s5. I just havent had time this week.

As far as the cookout. I am definitely down, as long as we dont break about $20 a head.

I can try and contact all the guys from here (cherry point) I know ALL the military (Marine) personel have Nov. 10-14 off. It would be excellent if it would be then! I'd for sure be there, and probably a the guys from Jacksonville, Havelock, Cherry Point, such as GTUser had mentioned. So my suggestion is Nov. 10-14 and i'd be willing to pay 8-12 bucks a head.

Hey Josh, are you going to be running the stock ecu without an airpump? Thats just the impression I got from one of your posts and if you didn't already know... that will not work at all. You had better get that Apexi first. hehe

I'd be willing to pay anything short of $20 for a cook-out, shirt, and good times. We gotta have some cool shirts though... ha

If any of you are interested and are extreeeeemely dedicated 7 owners.... I am having a Charlotte meet Saturday November 6. If any of you want to come down, you are more than welcome to meet up with us, we'd love to have you. And what's all this about a cookout? Sounds awesome! I think planning the cookout for the weekend of the 23rd may be too soon.

Taylor, I took the airpump out of my car and ran it for about a month with no ill effect other than a slightly rougher idle, which I smoothed out by turning it up 1-200RPM. It does seem to run richer at idle, but since I am getting the PFC by the end of the year, I haven't been to highly concerned. Was there a particular problem with removing the pump that I havent thought about? I read about a half dozen posts and tried to be smart about it, but i know the road I am walking you have already been down so if any advice would be appreciated.

Lauren, If I get things straightened out as far as cars go I will try and make the trek down to charlotte for that meet.

I think the weekend of Nov 13th, gives us plenty of time to coordinate and get everyone to clear their schedule. It would also allow Rotofire to come up.

I am not very good but I am gonna play with a couple of ideas for a logo design. Maybe some1 else will be able to polish my ideas. I guess it's time to decide on an official "club" name. Are we gonna stick with Raleigh Rotary Drive-ins?

I appreciate the feedback on the GRR, Grand Rotary Rally and it looks like we can lock in the weekend of Nov 13-14 for the event. I like the idea of an official shirt and it occurred to me that most of us are in the Triangle area and a rotor is triangular so that is an obvious logo for a club logo but I don't have any specifics about what the shirt should look like and haven't seen anything, anywhere that has given me any ideas. So Josh and whoever else wants to contribute to the idea get with johny and y'all work on the design and production costs and what a good price will be.

I would love to do this at Dave's place since the drive out in that area should be nice. No alcohol involved and I know his parents would want to know who he is spending his Saturday nights hanging around with. If that is not possible we could probably get a shelter at Falls Lake with a grill for cooking out. We need to get a fairly accurate head count by the next drive-in, 10/23, and decide what we want to eat. We can find someone to cater a pig pickin or work with dubs dad to get the food and cook hamburgers, hotdogs, or steaks and porkchops.

We'll work on the t-shirts and plan on the event for weekend of 11/13. We need to know how many will be there as soon as possible, and find the place to gather. Also I'll start getting a list of all possible people that have been to a drive in and those of you in Durham, Wilmington, Jacksonville, Cherry Point, Greensboro spread the word. I'll post a thread here after the 23rd drive-in with the specifics and print up some flyers and announcements.

You will foul up your catalytic converter and from what I've seen, the stock one seems to last far longer than the high-flow aftermarket replacements.
