give the 5.0 ford swap some thought. it might be a lot cheaper, and seems way more common in FBs.

Now when I take my foot off the gas and just float the vibration goes away...(wierd)

On the other hand though when i coast from 80MPH in neutral the car vibrates again!!! I'm lost here anyone have any suggestions???

Operation: Fat, Thick, Round Shaft resolved my problem. The symptom you described was for the most part what was happening with me. Driveshaft replacement cost: ~$350 for shaft and 3 day air from California from Mazdatrix if I remember correctly. Total time for switch: 4 hours. It's plug and play. The problems I encountered: rust in eye (forgot to bring other bag-o-tools with goggles...I'm a beaker geek...goggles for everything.), smacked domepiece on driver's side door when crawling (forgot my damn creeper too), and some tranny fluid spilled since I didn't have a plug for the hole as soon as I pulled the old one. I had to drop the entire exhaust system and leave my downpipe (haha, j/k!)...ahem...exhaust manifold attached...of course. Basically dropped the whole damn thing. Had to move car back and forth to rotate the driveshaft to reach other bolts...forgot damn jackstands! Yank out, look at splines, drizzle gear oil onto male part (hehe...) and on my hands and shirt, and ease it in. (more snickering) Once in, bolted up and moved car back and forth to once again reach unreachable bolts. (F U ramps!) Took out for a spin. Gained 5000 whp. Raced against a parked car and won! The FSM has like 4 steps. It's fairly easy with the right tools.

Dear everyone,

You don't like my exhaust? F. U. You guys smell funny.

In all seriousness, there is no point for me to get new exhaust for a car that I may or may not keep. If it's kept, it's going to be a race car. That's if, and I mean a really big IF, I want to continue to deal with this ****; probably not. When, not if, but when I go to the dark side (you guys know what the hell I'm talking about), I'm still going to come to meets. Why? Because I think that this group will probably contain the most down to Earth population. Not only that, but you guys are awesome to hang with.

Speaking of rally-inspired cars, a coworker drives a WRX. Now, long story short: Rallycross in Clayton this Saturday. I'm going to it. Meet me there or not, but I think it'll be cool. I'll try to snag some details tonight. I will also definitely post up the population map tonight after I get back from working out. (I love having a closer gym. Phillip is going to get huge.)

Dude, seriously...you could have driven down here, we knock out the job, and you driven back in under 4 hours. HAHA. Did you remember ANY tools? Here's step 1 for next time...make a list of tools you need and TAKE THEM WITH YOU. LOL So, you drizzled the gear oil on YOUR drive shaft? he he

I have to give you a hard time about your exhaust, haha. At least your car runs. Melba FTL. I'd hit you up about the autocross but I'm PRETTY sure there's an airshow somewhere this weekend, I could be wrong though, haha. HOWEVER, I may not be able to make it to the airshow now either. I have to pick up some people from "out of town" on Saturday, but I may be able to pawn it off on my boss, he has an Excursion, haha.

Eric. Have you checked your fuel pressure? In particular: Have you checked your fuel pressureat the injectors to ensure you are getting proper fuel pressure? Have you had your injectors cleaned in the past couple years?

This is seriously sounding like a fueling issue. You have air, you have spark, but do you have fuel?

the only other thing it could be is the timing is WAY the **** off. Have you checked to mae sure the spark plug wires are going to the right plugs?

Josh and I swapped the fuel inectors about a month ago, with cleaned and flow tested units. I have NOT checked the fuel pressure however. And the spark plug wires are on right, I just checked that last night too.

Oh I forgot to mention earlier...I realized today that I'd like to build an F1 car, for the streets, haha. Let's be honest, I'm never going to race one, I might as well have fun for a while on the streets til the cops catch me, right?

Yeah, E-dog, I know you gotta give me a hard time; what are friends for? F1 for the street? I'm totally down. There is one little problem. Just one small problem. I don't think RRDI as a whole could possibly fund the creation of an F1 car. Minor issue though. A go-kart with a Hayabusa engine would be good enough. Or you could have that STI ATV. I'm for the go-kart. Go-kart + Hayabusa engine = Death Machine Deluxe. I'd be the first one to test it. Where are my WWII bomber goggles and leather helmet?

I don't know P-Rod, I'm gonna have to stick with the F1 idea. I think this is the site a saw a while back that made me think of it now...

http://www.formula1street.com/

...but these aren't exactly what I want. I want mine just like an F1 car, as lean and mean. And by no means did I suggest the RRDI fund it, or even help me build it. I actually called my Dad about it a little bit ago, basically suggesting we build it together. He just sighed and asked "and what are you going to do with this?" LOL He's already not excited about me driving "spirited-ly" in a normal car, much less in something like this.

So far, this is what I know I want...paddle shifters. HAHA. I'm going to see if I can find some specs for one of the real cars, and start there.

I'm reading this book called Wild at Heart by a Christian author. He explains that God did not intend for us to be beaten down into being a "nice guy".

"The problem with men, we are told, is that they don't know how to keep their promises, be spiritual leaders, talk to their wives, or raise their children. But if they will try really hard, they can reach the lofty summit of becoming...a nice guy. That's what we hold up as models of Christian maturity: Really Nice Guys"

"We've taken away the dreams of a man's heart and told him to play the man. Deep in his heart, every man longs for a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue. That is how he bears the image of God; and that is what God made him to be"

This book has me so pumped, in so many ways. I'm only on the second chapter, haha. Never in my life have I felt so free to be myself, to reach for the things I've always wanted, to try to kill myself in really fast cars, HAHAHAHA.

Hey guys sorry I haven't been keeping up with this lately. I'm racing at VIR this weekend, should be about 70 cars in my class not to mention a BUNCH of RX7's.

Eric, Steve use to race a Formula Ford back in the day with the other 2 cars. Those things were freaking blast! It was all I could do to get inside the thing.

Gas should still be good. Hasn't been THAT long. I think the problem is the computer(pcm/ecu)!!! You should also check the fuel pump pulsation bearing seperator thingy in the muffler while you're down there. Lol, I'm just throwing stuff out now, lol.

Dream theater, I may be wrong on this, but my 91 eclipse GSX had this problem...but mine was brakes. So, when you coast it's gone, but what about breaking? On mine it shook under accel at 80, stopped at coasting. shook down to 60 under braking. Shook coasting and at accel at 100...kinda along the tire balance idea, but worth checking.

So Fil refers to himself in third person now, eh? lol, yeah, so the map idea is good, and I'm down to relocate if it's a fairly good location for all. Lastly...you really should consider the LS1 darkside instead....just think...faster, better gas mileage, cheaper to do, pretty darn reliable and faster!!! Did I say faster? But yeah, LS1 FOR THE WIN!!!

Josh...I REALLY don't wanna go Ford I WANT AN LS1!!! What are the mpg like on a 5.0 with a T5? I don't want to, but if I must *Sigh* LS1 FTW!!! I wanna join THAT dark side...okay?! I'm gonna shut up and go to bed now. (leaves room hanging head, sobbing...evil Frod's)

Greg- Yeah I wish I could get in it, but I'm just too old now. Well, I figure if I could build one I might be able to make it amateur style, like on VIR or something. Past that, forget it. I'll bet you were just drooling to get inside, haha.

David- You're right, it hasn't been that long, but you never know. I thought about tossing some Sta-bil in there too to see what happens. I'm trying to figure out how I'm gonna pay for the PFC if I get in on the GB, haha. I still have some tax return left, and by payday, which is the last day of the GB, I can probably pay the rest. However, my rear tires on the Prelude are showing cord now, and I'm probably driving it home to MO/IL in a couple weeks, so I gotta replace those. I'll probably just get some used ones for now. Oh, and Fil wasn't referring to himself I don't think, I think WE were the only ones talking about him, haha.

eric, you remember the part, that i said shouldnt have fuel in the vacuum line. could be a bad fuel pressure regulator. the only reason i didnt say anything more about it is because, if i remember right it had fuel in the vacuum line when we did your rats nest, but the car still ran. it coulda gone bad all the way. Thanks for the reminder, BC.

again, a car runs on fuel, spark, and compression. it pretty much has to be one of those three. i am barring compression from the equation. so it is fuel or spark. my two likely candidates that leaky fuel pressure regulator, or your timing(eg crank angle sensors).

mid 20s for MPG. i hear you on the el es juan, it is my engine of choice now. hell i am eyeballing this ramair T/A they have at a dealership. All my cars from here on out will be LSX powered. i just think the 5.0 swap would be way cheaper, get the FB back on the road. How is the FC?

Oh thanks for reminding me. I'll have to check on that. That should be pretty easy to replace while I have the injectors and rats nest out correct? I'd really like to get this thing fixed in the next couple weeks before I go home. I've already decided I'm driving, so I'm driving the Lude back if I don't get this fixed. I'd MUCH rather drive Melba home, haha. Do you have an extra crank angle sensor? I promise I'm not gonna stiff you on all these parts, haha.

Did you get your shock bushings yet?
