So I got most of the stuff off the turbos last night, and I broke a wrench trying to get the DP off so I gotta take it to Sears and swap it out. Once I get the DP off though I'm down to the turbos themselves so hopefully I'll be able to get them off tonight. I checked the shaft play on my turbos compared to the newer set I picked up, and it seems pretty close to the same to me, which kinda pisses me off. Brian at Rotorsports told me Tony's turbos were in really good shape...well **** if that's the case MINE are in really good shape aside of bad oil seals, I just don't believe that though.
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

you could rebuild yours, but what would it cost? (seriously, i don't know)

They mean the same to me, as long as they're slotted for us I could care less. I should know by the end of the week I'm told.

Well, one of the reasons I didn't just try to rebuild mine was because I was told they're pretty much ruined after rebuild. BNR used to rebuild theirs but they stopped because they kept leaking oil and having other problems after being rebuilt. You either get them new or don't go twin, pretty much.

I got my check valves in the mail today, but I'm gonna throw the turbo on first and see what changes. After that, if there's no change, I'll swap out the check valves and see if that changes. Either way, if the turbo fixes it or not, at least I'll have new check valves in.

Oh, looky looky at what else came in the mail today, now that it's warm, haha. And make no mistakes, this jacket is WARM.

The shirt isn't the one I originally ordered. They didn't have the original shirt in my size so they swapped this one for me, although I still like the other one better.

I actually looked at a picture of the twins to understand how they were oriented. I never really knew until now. I still don't understand the 10-8-10, but I don't have an FD so oh well.

10 on the first turbo, 8 during transition, and 10 on the second turbo.

Holy crap. I almost got the turbos out tonight. If I had a way to keep the coolant from leaking all over the floor I would have had it. I didn't even have to use PB Blaster, shocked the hell outta me. The nuts, well studs rather, almost all of them were loose. I say studs because the nuts didn't come off, the studs came out, which is fine by me. However, the last bolt broke off in the exhaust manifold, but I think there are still enough threads on it to be able to reuse it, for now at least. I had to cut the exhaust bolt in half too, the one that got stuck and broke my wrench last night. Gotta love a Dremel and cutting disc, that worked like a charm.

I just thought of something...maybe I'll get something embroidered on the jacket denoting rotaries and not just all Mazdas, maybe on the right breast, opposite "Mazda". Should I get "RX-7" or a rotor or something?

what.the.hell! Phil JUST posted today this stupid waiver that everyone MUST sign or they cannot participate in the event this weekend. what kind of **** is that? we're ALREADY here... and people have already paid/taken off work/etc who may NOT want to sign the waiver. wtf. it's a public road for crying out loud. not like we can sue the mountains for allowing roads to be so damn curvy. /rant

anyway... BC! check your pm's. David needs you to pick up his Puma's at our house before you leave. (or anyone else who is leaving tomorrow. please PM me. he needs his driving shoes. he forgot them)

And this is why I'm probably NEVER going to go to DGRR for RX-7 related events. RX-8, maybe...cough...AWD car events, probably...cough...

yeah. pretty pissed about it, actually. seems uncool that he'd take ppl's money and then tell them they can't participate if they don't sign a waiver.

He can't keep you off the road, it's a public road. All he can do is keep you from participating in the event. Who's to say you guys aren't there on your own just to drive the road, ya know? Yep, I won't be going back either. Just one more reason.

You will have to sign a waiver for the rx8 event too in order to participate... .. the only difference is the waiver is ready well before the event.

See my previous comment, the waiver is so he doesn't get sued. Phil isn't the only event coordinator that makes you do this. Again, the difference being that the waivers should have been ready a while ago, but he did say he would have some waivers so it's really no big deal.

100% correct. The waiver actually has nothing to do with driving the road. It has everything to do with the event.

I don't know what the big deal is...those of us participating in the RX-8 Brotherhood event, have to sign a waiver as part of our registration so we can get a conformation number to book our rooms. It's just so Phil can cover his ***. Hell, I would do the same in situation.

Maybe it really isn't such a big deal, but maybe it's the timing. Probably should have been brought up earlier than the start of the event.

The

Ballistic

or BRICkHAMMer, is still undergoing development.

Essentially, the BRICkHAMMer is a fiberglass molded handle inserted into a hardened clay rectangle. The inclusion of holes is optional, but their addition is what sets the BRICkHAMMer apart from an ordinary sledgehammer. Into the holes small explosives can be added. Of course only the brave can wield a loaded hammer.

The handle is similar to the one shown below:

Now, since the impact point of the BRICkHAMMer is destroyed, one must carry more than one of the heads.

Shown in the photograph is a head without explosives. A few of these can be carried by a single person or a team of BRICkHAMMer wielders can be formed in which many heads are carried. The devastating power of a BRICkHAMMer is feared and something to be regarded as a highly lethal means of destroying ANYTHING.

Are the heads easy to put on since you have to use a new one every time? What's the expected MSRP on this device? Is it dishwasher safe? I can't see the pics at work but I'm going to notify our Resource Advisor and Security Forces to see if there may be interest in this.

Oh, and for the record, I'm not that brave and I ALWAYS carry a loaded hammer
