I wouldn't worry about the junk title. As much as I love FC's (god's perfect car!) let's face it, it's not worth much. However, since it has a good body, you have a great starting point to make a really good ride.

Just my two cents, personally I'd love a good project car.

Johny, nice little harem you're building. You should do like Steve and use them for yard art.

Picutres are coming tomorrow. I have everything downloaded to photobucket so I'll post'em in the morning. I can't wait for the next drive-in, it seems that they get better each time, new cars, new people, new mods, and this week we had some window shoppers stop by.

Nice time, but it seems that we're gonna have to send one of the ol'guys along to Capital Blvd to chaperon the yungin's. Can't let them start hanging out with the wrong crowd. Those ricer guys are a baaaad influence. Look what's happenin' to Jeremy already; loud car, extreme interior, before you know it he'll have some awful wing duck taped to the trunk and have neons, bright green neons, under lights and on his license plate. Oh no, were have we gone wrong with the boy?

Pics from the 8/28 Drive-In

Here are the pics I got of this past drive-in. People and Rotaries what a great mix of the complicated and the complex. Again I enjoyed meeting everyone after foolishly postponing the last drive-in, but I learned my lesson, won't happen again. Beautiful night, beautiful people and most important of all beautiful cars:

Lauren finally made a Drive-In with her beautiful little FB and there was no gun play.

Here's one for all those with engine bay fetishes

And we have an interior decorator amongst us, he does nice work:

We also had window shoppers out last night, I think I overheard her say " Oh look at the nice cars Matt, just think when you're ready to drive they'll all be antiques." Nice thought

Hope y'all enjoy them, and before anyone says anything, yeah, I know, I didn't get a good pic of Dale's mazdaspeed 8. I was so excited about the turnout that somehow, I missed that shot. I'll be sure to make up for it next time.

Bert

Not sure how I missed this - I have been keeping an eye on this thread. Did you ever get back under there and do the bushings? If not have you gotten used to it yet? I still havent had any time to work on the car because of my move to charlotte (which is almost done). Keep me posted on the diff project!

Oh and good job Bert on building up this group! It is coming along nicely! I do have one suggestion though- start parking in the parking lot behind the chargrill. I think you have outgrown the chargrill lot. Pick a nice open part of the lot so you can all line up. Makes for better chat/showing. Also makes for great pics. And you may attract more mazda passerby's with a more organized lineup. Plus if you get much bigger you will probably start pissing of chargrill (by taking up all their parking).

I look forward to the next weekend I am in Raleigh - shouldnt be too long.

Shawn, I think I have just gotten used to it now. Next time I am under there for something I will probably try and get something in there though. I've had several comments about the car having a built in massage feature at higher RPM.

Lauren, if you get something started out in G'boro, make sure to make it on the 1st and/or 3rd Saturdays of the month. That way maybe some of us can sneak out there and show some support. just my 2 cents.

Ryan, the fuzz was definitely out Saturday. The funny thing is that is one of the tamest nights I have seen up on Capital. Maybe the real cars scared most of the rice boyz away.

The one bad thing that came from hanging out with all the other 7s is; that I noticed how tall my car sits in comparison to the others. Gotta get those coilovers soon. Can't go around looking like an offroading vehicle.

Oh and if anyone is looking for a pretty clean FB there is one for sale headed up Capital close to Wake Forest. I think they are asking around $2000.

Again awesome turnout this past weekend. Hope to see everyone at the next meet.

Yes, we've started talking about what to do when we outgrow this parking area. There is a lot of parking in the area so we may have to move the gathering site to the Home Depot parking lot. Most of the time we can get most of the cars together but this Saturday a couple of the guys that work there parked their SUV's in the row we normally use. Messed up the aesthetics of the drive-in.

Have you had a chance to meet any of the Charlotte 7 owners yet? They also have a pretty active group from what happens on the forum.

My daughter lives in Charlotte and works at The Sanctuary in south Charlotte. If you or your wife ever need some good massage therapy you should check the place out after you settle in.

You know, I was thinking the exact thing about my own car, I looked around and mine was the tallest car there.

Gotta ditch the stock suspension sometime...

finally got all the new parts for my swap (new clutch, hydraulics, bearings, trans seals, etc.) and should be running by the end of this week (hopefully). if any of you guys need any automatic trans parts, give me a PM. i'll be glad to help ya out. Much thanks to the Durham group, I appreciate all your help.

I found out why my idle wouldnt go down past 1900 -- I had all the vac hoses plugged in on the engine, but today when taking my engine and transmission out i noticed that the vac hose that runs from the tranny to the back of the throttle body, was unplugged at the trans. But everything is going smooth, now that I have some cash to use.

I'll come up to the meet once I have at least a couple hundred miles on my car, and don't worry, I'll be making that odometer spin like a top!

Also, do any of you guys have an S-AFC for sale?
Whassup man, glad your coming along with the 5 speed conversion. That car has been through quite abit of work, but it will be well worth it when you get her on the road. Looking forward to seeing ya at one of the future driveins.

Steve

P.S. Isn't that my leg hanging out the door in your avatar?

Ryan, it is at a lot, the car is red, the lot is on the right side of the road, a small mom and pop joint. when i looked at the car it'd started raining so i didn't get too close of a look, but it looked clean from what i could see.
