I sure hope to be out at the next meet! My parts are suppose to come in while I'm at the beach next week so I'm going to have to do some hell of a tuning on Saturday when I get back and before I come out Saturday night.

More interest in the group

Just received a call from Dale, an RX8 owner who found our posts and wanted to know a little about the drive-ins and what we do. He said he has had an 8 for about 8 months and has made about every improvement that can be made to it. He's interested in getting together with other rotary owners. He'll be at one of our August drive-ins.

hey guys, i have a question. where are you guys getting your preformed hoses from? i busted my CRV hose while doing the y-pipe install and am gettin zero PSI. does mazda still sell these or is there a better replacement. i got some hose from the auto parts, but it is too flimsy to make the turn, even if i used more hose it still doesnt work. thanks for the help. if no1 knows i will post in the 3rd gen forum.

Josh, are you talking about the vacuum line or the bigger 2" diameter (or close to it) line? If you mean the larger line, I just have taken the exact hose to autozone and they have matched me up with the closest piece they could find. I've replaced just about every hose over there in the turbo area so I bet that they have something like it for you no matter what it is. And if that does not work... yes, Mazda does still carry the hoses. (There significantly more expensive though)

I decided to wait until the next meet, we had so many new people and with the confusion, my fault, about where to meet , I thought that the next drive-in would be a good time to do the drawing. I want to get some input on a group buy together to do that with the giveaway. Since RotorSports offered us the wires I am hoping that we have at least 4 guys, beside me, that will take advantage of the group buy offer they have made to us. I didn't have time to get everyone together to discuss that at the last meeting. Everyone was so busy admiring that Red TII that I didn't want to distract them. I think we'll have a good chance next meeting to do the giveaway.

By the way, how is the title coming on that car?

Morning Josh, when do you sleep? You posted last night way late and you're up posting this morning.

Good luck getting you car back together. We need you and Taylor back in your cars to give the 8 owners something to strive for. The guy I mentioned above, Dale, will be bringing an 8 with all the trimmings to one of the August drive-ins. He sounded like he takes as much pride and time with his 8 as we all do with our 7s.

Hey Bert, this guy Dale, he dosn't by chance drive a silverish rx-8 does he? I have seen this thing drives past my house everyday and is totally bad ***. He at least has exhaust, rims and carbon fiber hood. I got to get ahold of that guy some how.

yeah, I think that he said it was titanium, which should be a dark silver. I haven't seen one that color yet but I think your are probably right. From what he said he has done everything that can possibly be done to upgrade the car. I am looking forward to the August drive-ins, he said he'd show up on the 28th if he couldn't make it on the 14th.

I just got done talking with him, he works right down the road from me. His car is simply stunning. I can't wait to see him show up at one of the meets.

I was driving on 15-501 this past weekend and saw a Red FD parked at front of Mazda dealer parking lot. I believe it's a 93. It was an automatic with 52K orginial miles on it. I didn't get the chance to find out the selling price as the dealer was closed at that time. The condition of the car is excellent inside and out.

Just want to share that information to anyone who is looking for a FD.

Do you remember the mileage on it? And is the dealer Millenium Mazda? I know some of the guys at the drive-ins have been looking for an FD but I'm not sure about the auto trans.

Bert,

I think the exact milage was between 52-53K. I only have chance to take a look from outside of the car and through window about interior. From what I see, everything seems to maintain in good condition and is all stock. The dealer is off on 15-501 right beside Hyundai dealer.

the darker dark side calls me from time to time, like everytime i see the durham crew. i want a T2 in white, but can't bring myself to part with the $$$, when I could use that money on the FD. maybe once my FD is "done" i will pick up a 2nd gen for my next project.
