Just a reminder...

Saturday's Christmas lights trip is postponed for two weeks so we can have a better turnout. There are only like 3 or 4 people coming to my knowledge.

I have 3 projects to do this weekend. Yuck. Busy busy weekend for everyone, it seems.

The thread is dead today. I see Mazda drivers has there dates up We should try to do this in June. I think it would be too much to do in March. The cold rainey weather sucks. I think its gonna be this way on Fri too.

Yeah I was looking at that link also. Your probably right about March and we must have seen the same forecast about this Friday. Let's hope it changes!

Why is it raining, getting colder, looking like a lousy week for weather?

Man we seem to have a lot of vert owners around here! Need to get all of them to show up one night, we could end up with half a dozen or more!

Last year it was rainy, low clouds, misting rain all morning and once we gathered our rotaries together the rain stopped, the clouds lifted and it was a fairly nice afternoon for wasting gas and burning rubber. The track and the driving was a little more interesting for the first session anyway. It looks like we're gonna have a pretty good turnout if the weather guessers don't discourage some of us.

Anyone heard from Dan, he was suppose to have his turbo back on the road by now and is planning on joining the caravan to VIR last I heard. This will be the most fun y'all have had since Deals Gap!

I have my '78 SA back on the Road and my '93 sucked in some broken up Air filter on the secondary turbo. The secondary Turbo Compressor is completely destroyed. So she is going to Rotor Sport Racing in January for a complete overhaul on her turbo systems.

VIR is this friday! I just need to get my '78 tuned and in timing and she is ready to role!

That is why I havn't been able to make it back up there to Raleigh. I have been trying to figure out what went wrong. Then I did and she is parked until she is fully repaired.

I will let you guys know what the plans are by thursday. But I think I can get my '78 up and on the move. I think she has been itching to get some track time under her belt!

Ooooh... nice #'s Ray, congrats!

My FC suuuuuccckks. Someone got a 240 SX I can buy off em?? I need a daily driver so I can get this FC back to her better days.

Everyone keep an eye out for me for a 240 SX. Any bodystyle is fine, but I prefer the S13 (old style) hatchback. I'm gonna be getting one here in the near future... probably by March or April at the latest, but whenever my budget allows. Just pray the RX-7 lasts that long.

Any of you guys in Raleigh want to diagnose my FC? It feels like there is some play in the transmission (feel and hear a *clunk* when you let off the gas or during shifting sometimes). It may be in the half shafts or the pumpkin...I'm not really a car guru at all.

Also, the car whines in neutral, but the whining stops when I disengage the clutch. No clue what that is from... I just got the car a couple of weeks ago and the guy had put in a 6-puck clutch that doesn't like me too much.

The Eagle has landed! Lol, I'm going to start calling my car the Millenium Falcon! It's fast but there's always something wrong. Well, nothing too bad this time, but I got the clutch in, and it works great. Nothing like breaking in Kevlar. Unfortunately, my rear end bearings are reportedly starting to go, so I don't know if I'll go up to VIR or not. All I need now is some better shop documentation, a few bucks, and I can have that fixed too, but it will probably have to wait till Mid-January.

However, the dude who did my clutch only did it for 250 on the install, and he let me know about the bearings. I wish I had known earlier what that whining noise was in the back of the car. Does anyone know how to judge the severity of such?

Anywho, if anyone can let me know as to whether or not to stay home Friday, then please do so, I might just ride up there anyway, but I would want to participate so badly.

Sorry I haven't posted in so long, but I just got her back and I've worked like crazy.

Some of that I think can be accounted to the fact that it is a six puck clutch. And if it's kevlar like mine, she'll whine a little. Though mine tends to dissipate and go away once she's warmed up. Though some of it sounds like you might be low on fluid, check your slave clutch pump. But I'm no expert at cars either, so I would trust someone more experienced than me if they said something else.

I'd venture a guess that your differential mount is on the way out. Mine made that noise for a long time before I broke it with a gloriously loud "CLUNK!" at the drag strip. Puck clutches and differential mounts don't like each other, just to warn you.

The whining may just be a worn input shaft bearing in your tranny.

Hey guys I just read GT live will be coming to VIR in Oct. Same weekend as the Grand am race. This will be cool seeing all the drift cars and such. Looks like we got a busy year ahead.
