How often should one do a radiator flush, anyway? I haven't done one since I've owned the car, and who knows when the previous owners did one. *growl*

What other vital fluids should I change/check/adjust/etc?
I do a flush everytime I get off he pot. Oh, you mean RADIATOR flush, I do it once a year but I think it is recommended once every 2 years at the most. And Water Wetter or Purple Ice can't hurt.

Call Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda for OEM parts, just search this forum his number has been posted a ton. I used to order OEM parts from Mazdatrix but Ray is a ton cheaper.

Wow... this was WAY out of line. I'm pretty offended, and I wasn't even a PART of this BS. You lose ALOT more power with a RWD car than you do with a FWD. Ask any RX-7 person on this forum... they'll tell you. Back when I had my dyno run, I found out my POS FC only has 107 hp, when I was hoping to have at least 120-130... but they explained that it's because of the HP loss from being RWD.

And the last part about being shot at vs. taking a cruise is pretty f'ed up, dude. Both are EQUALLY stressful... how would you like to be crammed on a tiny ship with a buttload of other men with NOWHERE to escape or have privacy... and no way to communicate with the outside world half the time, because your satellites are often shut down so people can't see you on radar?? THAT'S stress, my little friend.

You need to be a bit more respectful when you post on this thread. This is a VERY drama-free thread. Let's keep it that way, k?

Oh... Josh... Water Wetter does work. I asked the guys at work. How many do I need to pick up for people on Saturday? They're about $6 a piece, but I have 20% off, so whatever y'all can afford for me to pick up.

Thanks for the backup..I was trying to hold my tongue...there are a lot more errors in the information on that letter, but we'll leave it to the wayside in the interest of peace. I meant no offense, so to all I offended with my comparison, I appologize. He is DEFINITELY right on manueverability...but I'm SURE without a DOUBT IN MY MIND you already knew that and so do I. Sorry I left it out. Didn't cross my mind since it won't be a factor in the race between Josh and I. Drag coefficient will though..and since we're talking about this y'all probably got me on that too. I don't even NEED to find a web site to tell me that. As for the 0-60 time...VERY possible I'm wrong on that. I got ALL the times for both cars from the same site...but I just realized the site sucks *****...if you look at the FD 0-100 time it says 12.9...so how can it run the 1/4 in 14 flat at only 99? Yeah...Need to rethink that one. Sorry there too. I wasn't trying to find supremacy or add insult, the biggest point I was making is that the SRT is often underestimated and it was there mostly to show Josh what I found. I usual;ly tell my friends that I believe the SRT and RX-7 FD are close enough that it would come down to the driver. This, I think, showed that to be fairly accurate. That's all I was saying. It was mostly meant for Josh, Bert, Carl, Eric and the others I chat with at the meets I make it to(sorry for anyone I forgot). I would RATHER own an FD, I think I already told that fact to those I know from meets also, but I like the fact that my "Neon," can hold it's own with what I consider to be one of the greatest sport compact cars on the road(the RX-7 FD3S). I'll drop this and keep any further comaprisons to the guys I know in pm's. Didn't mean to cause all the drama starting Later. Oh yeah...Also...in favor of the man who posted...I truly appreciate what the marines do...and have MASSIVE respect for them. But we're all on the same team bro. Whether you sacrifice more than me by being on the field with no communications for longer than 6 months, or it's a squid like myself stuck on a ship for 6 months seeing land a total of 12 days over that period...a sacrifice for your country needs no insult. Like I said...we're in this together. We all have our responsibilities...without all the pieces put together as they are, we would fall apart as a country. "United We Stand...Divided We Fall...But together as one, we can withstand all."

Jarheads and Squids have always had words between them. My dad was a squid and my brother a Jarhead. We had a lot of interesting discussions.

No offence meant by the refrence "Jarhead" or "Squid" I respect all of our troops and if you guys haven't heard this in a while THANK-YOU

christina, i won't have the money to do it until next weekend, as sad as that sounds.

as far as the whole SRT vs. FD subject. I would say for straightline performance, stock vs. stock, there is no difference in the two cars, for all intents and purposes. you can find tests that report a variety of numbers on both cars, you kinda have to take the average. i always tell people a range normally 0-60=~5seconds, and the quarter I tell them is somewhere between 13.5-14.0.
On a road course the SRT would be murdered, but that isn't the type of race that we are proposing.

Also, anyone who has talked to David would know that he has a pretty realistic view of his car. He understand that in the long run his car is just a Neon. Personally I think Dodge made a mistake by stuffing all that into a Neon body. I guess they did it to keep the price down around $20K for a Stage I. Also, the may have done it because they didnt intend for it to compete with Vettes, Vipers, FDs, Supras, etc on a road course, or even a straight line. They built the car to decimate the newer econobox sports whatevers that are out. I think they accomplished that.

Essentially anytime you pit an SRT against something like an FD or Vette. It is a cross-over comparison. The SRT was built for budget straight line power, while the FD was built for "budget" road course performance. The FD is not meant to be a straightline monster, and the SRT4 isnt meant to be a curve-carver.

Anyhow, the only thing I respect in a car is speed. In this case we are talking about straightline speed. I have seen SRts go low 11s on street drag radials(driven to the track that way). you can't argue with the results. I have also seen a modded SRT hold its own on the road courses.

Any RX7 owner should know that the FDs short coming is straigtline performance. it Just wasnt built for the punishment. From a roll it is deadly, but from a dig not so much. Unless you like breaking differentials.

On the Marine vs. Navy thing. I suppose that **** has been going on for years, but lets just keep it above the belt on the forum.

My grandfather was a proud "Jarhead." Called himself that alot.

I refer to David as "My Squid" all the time. It's a term of endearment... hehe.

Josh... that's fine... just let me know when you want me to pick some up. My poor butt can't afford anything fun right now either. I still have a couple of textbooks to get for the semester. Glad the teachers haven't required anything out of them yet.

Hey Guys,

Gotta tell you about my adventure the other night. A little background, Douglas went out of town on a last minute trip and to took my cell charger with him so my cell was dead.

I go to pick him up at the airport and the low fuel light comes on and I realize the auto shop had been cruising in my car. So with her drinking gas like she does I stop at the Kangaroo on Harrison and pick 'pay inside' so I can get cigarettes and a drink. At $2.89 for premium I pump nearly $40.00 into her and go inside. The place is packed and it is nearly 11pm. Stand in line and wait and when it is my turn I pull out the wallet and OOPS! the debit card is home on the table with my prescription that I had picked up earlier. So, pull out the trusty gold card and DENIED! Yikes!! I figure it has got to be his terminal so I back up to the ATM for a cash advance. DENIED again!

Go back to the line and wait again and explain the problem, I tell him I will leave my purse to run to the airport and be right back. He says no, I have to give him my drivers license. Not gonna happen, we argue. He says if I don't hand over my drivers license he is calling the police. So, I tell him to call the police because he is not getting my drivers license.

He picks up the phone and by this time people are getting grouchy because of the delay. I am standing there and he suddenly drops the phone and runs outside. When he comes back he picks up the phone and yells. It says SHINKA (pause) SHINKA (pause) SHINKA S H I N K A SHINKA! I bust out laughing because I can just imagine the dispatcher on the other end trying to figure that one out. This gets me a glare from the guy and I hush. He then tells me the police are coming and starts taking care of the other customers.

Now, it is getting late and I ask if I can use his phone to call my husband. NO! Can I use the pay phone outside? NO! (how the hell did he expect me to get him the money I owed?)

Finally the police arrive and I explain the problem and tell them I am not leaving my drivers license since I have to drive. The cop looks at the guy and says "You can't keep her drivers license, that is illegal" Takes my info gives it to the guy and says if she doesn't come back call us, and don't let me find out this place is keeping peoples licenses.

So, anyway, I get Douglas and go back and pay and the guy won't even look at me.

But I still bust out laughing everytime I think of this guy yelling SHINKA! into the phone.

See you guys Saturday!

^^^ Hehe. That was way too funny. These gas station merchants are becoming REALLY rude. Don't even get me STARTED about the b**** at the Texaco in Garner. (BTW, don't buy your gas there... they'll accuse you of stealing gas... after you paid in CASH... then call the cops!)

Hey, does anyone want to come with some buds and I to get their car dynoed? We're going to Carolina Auto Masters in Durham on September 9th at 5 pm. We need at least 5 people, and one person just dropped out. We figure with five people it would be $50 a person, although more are welcome. I think they're planning on doing three runs per car, but I'm not too sure since I'm only planning on seeing how much HP my car is putting down and I'm not actually going to tune anything.
