damn nobody's coming? I was all ready to bring the GTU out. I think even Rick's gonna be able to make it, as he's got his turbo in and is just putting the car back together today. Oh well... I did want to show off the new paint job finally but I guess it's gonna be a long time before that happens since I can't make it to Deal's Gap.

Sounds like an out of body experience. Thats awsome. I went head to head with a Lambo Contach in Charleston SC last year but only to hear that exaust. .

Not a good weekend for a meet, holiday and basketball. If everyone else wants to I'm game for next weekend since the following weekend some of us are headed to Deals Gap.

While the RX-8 was in the shop at the service dept. one of the techs BACKED IT INTO SOMETHING! HARD! It destroyed the rear bumper of my Veilside D1-GT body kit. I was the third to get it here in America and there were only 12 in the US. It looks like they are going to pay for me to get a new one, I have to wait to hear from them after they talk to their insurance on Monday. This just pisses me off, but I have been wanting to repaint the car and change kits but i wanted to change the front bumper not the rear. So now I have to decide what I want to do should i replace the bumper I had if I can get one or should I get the RE-Amemiya rear bumper or the mint blue rear bumper. What do you guys think:
RE-Amemiya

MintBlue

or replace the veiside one

I'll just ignore the street racing content.

It is a Ferrari 360 powerplant, more or less, in a heaver and cheaper chassis.

And that owner was a wuss. Had he been a real owner, he would have had it at VIR like the one I saw (and was passed on track by) today! I sure as heck know why he was running the Maserati on track - it costs about 1/3 of the cost of a F360 Spyder!

(It was towed up in an enclosed trailer along with his F360 Spyder)

VIR is fun, even when you are going up to pick up some parts and are bumming a ride from your instructor friends (Turbo Miata).

That sucks T.O. Thats why i hate letting anybody else drive/work on my car. I could just never forgive somebody if they messed up my car. Sounds like they are going to work it out though. I personally like the RE-Amemiya rear bumper. It is kind of hard to tell with the 3 different angles of the differnt bumpers. Good luck with it...

I'm getting hyped about TOTD, less then two weeks away. The thought has crossed my mind that i might get my engine rebuild b4 then, but i highly doubt it. I got all the parts to do the rebuild but, i am waiting on my SP templates. I hope they will be here by mid next week.

I was at Rick's house on Saturday and was there when he finished putting his new turbo's on after the Rotorsports disaster. From what he said he will be taking it back down there this week to get the tuning done. He had nothing but good things to say about the guys down there even after what happend. They sent him the turbo's and a y-pipe the next day. Thats what i call customer service. Rick also mentioned that he might go to TOTD, something that i had not heard.

So what's the plan for TOTD. Are there any more sleeping arangements available, any local hotels still have rooms? So whats the turnout suppost to be like? I had talked to a couple of the sponsers who are attending about possible sponserdhips for my car, swo maybe seeing it and me in person will help me land one. that would help out with the Greddy turbo.

ummm we are pretty much booked in our cabin. someone snatched up that last room. i don't know if he has anyone coming with him, so there might be another bed in the room. you can PM impulsive-RX7 to see if he wouldn't mind sharing his room. Other than that We can probably pack a 2-3 people in the living room. I think JKM had dibs on one floor spot.

on the same note, my 7 still isn't 100% so I hope I have time to log some miles on it before TOTD. If i don't, i probably won't chance the trip, since i won't have had anytime to work out bugs. so, i might be needing to ride shotgun with someone. that is if anyone has a spare seat. hopefully, that won't be the case, and i will get these little details taken care of by the end of this week. that would mean i could log a whole weekend of driving on the car.

so everyone cross their fingers.

Deals Gap Caravan

Plans at this point are to meet a the Caribou Coffee Shop at Briers Creek Parkway Friday morning no later than 10:00AM and head out for Robbinsville. We'll pick Johny up at the first Rest Area west of Durham on I-85 or 40 whenever we hit that first Rest Area. I need to know who will be meeting in Raleigh and who besides Johny will want to meet us at that rest area west of Durham. I need to get everyone's cell phone numbers so that I can pass out a list to everyone else. That way we will be able to let the group know when someone needs to stop for gas, food, maintenance, bathrooms, etc. Be sure to have a good map or driving directions ready, if anyone needs an NC DOT Road Map please let me know and I'll pick some up. I'll be going to Tenn. this coming week for a few days and can pick some maps up at a NC visitor center ln I-40.

Everyone should prepare their car for the trip. Review the checklist I posted sometime back if you have any questions about what to check and change. Be sure that you have fresh oil and good brakes. If you are going to Deals Gap PM me your cell number and I'll have handouts when we leave on Friday. I'll also have GRR T-shirts for the trip up. They will be done this week and I'll pick them up next week.

Hey guys, a friend of mine might be interested in getting a 2nd gen RX7 for his next car. He is looking for an 89-91 GXL or TII ideally but might be interested in some other 2nd gens. Anyone know of any for sale that are in decent condition? Thanks.

Rick's wife has an MPV. That thing is badass... she's got all the features on it: leather seats, automatic doors, and a sweetass 220ish hp V-6 on there. Jeremy and I turn off the traction control on that thing and it will peel out if you just floor it off a light. I hate to say it, but that thing can kill most nonturbo 7's.

i thought i'd bring this up in the area first- ken is trying to get rid of both of his cars. 87 GXL with 9XXXX miles less motor and tranny( car in very good shape!) and an 88 turbo II, few minor mods and 17in motegi MR7's. needs a rebuild(no title). perfect for TII swap into the GXL. he also has a plethora of parts for a 2nd gen. he wants 1500 for all of it.

Told my friend about these cars, he might be interested. Is that 1500 for both cars and the parts? Thanks.
