And yeah the OCD is a marvel of Mazda engineering.

It works on the Oscillating Compensatory Deregulation principle. If one of the X wheels starts to come out of alignment with the others, the resulting out-of-phase oscillations are picked up by the Oscillator, which sends signals to the Compensator. The Compensator processes the information and signals the wheel deregulators to bring the errant wheel back into alignment.

The OCD not only keeps your FB's X wheels looking like they just came off the lot, its continuous trimming and balancing activities maintain much truer wheel balance and can increase tread life by as much as 10%.
No denying Mazda knows what they're doing. The system kinda works on my Miata too..

That is one pretty Miata Chris, and you're right, the OCD is working perfectly.

I've been partial to the 3rd gen Miata's, idle daydreams about what to do if the 12A in the Silver One ever quits. But the more I look at that white one of yours, the more I like the 1st gens.

When do you stop needing emissions?

Can you put a carb on a 1st gen Miata? How 'bout a Nikki?

Mike, let's have another one of those parties. Invite me this time?

Tim, we can do the brake bleed in the Twisted Sisters parking lot at the 12-7-10 OGTA. If softball season is over, come on down. I've got the tools in the Silver One.

Tim: This is my next purchase. I use a vaccum style bleeder now. This system works with the natural flow of air bubbles( to the highest point) Well worth the investment IMO.

You might be able to throw a carb on it, definitely not a Nikki. I don't see why you would want to though. I like the 31 mpgs I can get on the highway as it is.
The first year of the Miata is 1989 so that will be emissions exempt in 2014.

I bought the one from Harbor Freight. It seems reasonably well made, but I have not been able to get it to work worth a darn.

I just use the old Mittyvac. I bled the whole car at little Tally in half an hour.

Yeah Ray, I don't really wanna make that 45 mile drive just using the handbrake . They aren't soft at the moment, they are non-existent .

i just use a clear bottle and some tubing that'll fit snuggly on the bleeder, like a piece of vac hose. keeping the end of the hose submersed in the brake fluid. crack the bleeder open and work the pedal til the bubbles stop.

Great minds think alike, Ray. Now that I have a tap and the frig in the basement configured to hold a 1/4 keg. Maybe this spring we can have a Saturday OGTA meet at my house.

That would be an interesting trip up to Suwanee for sure, Tim, but think about it. If you actually make it to the TS parking lot, you'll be an instant Urban Legend in the rotary world.

Sounds like a commitment Mike. All we need is a date.

Ordered the mityvac.

Was hoping to make it out this month Ray, but next Tuesday just isn't going to work. Maybe some day.

I was in Hiram tonight eating some sushi when i saw a flat black FC with an RX-7 Club sticker on the drivers windshield. I run to my car to grab an OGTA card and by the time i got back to his car he was gone.

Does any one know who this is?? It made my day! I never see an RX-7 when im out in mine

I saw an absolutely beautiful FB, probably an SE by the way it was kept, in Athens yesterday. I was dropping off the recycles over by the movie theater when it poked out of a residential street in that area.

Beautiful car, looked like that Aztec Gold color, with a set of big polished metal wheels, looked like chrome. First random FB I've seen out on the road this year. Of course I wasn't in the Silver One, instead I was in the MP5 packed with stinky recycled glass and plastic. Not a good opportunity to introduce myself but if I see him again I will and give him a card.

Which I have some extra of and will bring to the Tuesday meeting.

^ And to think, I was just about out of those Of course, the stack I had were some of the first ones you made, with the RX7 club link on them instead of MazdaMeets one...
