yeah he still has it. one of his daughters has been driving it ever since she wrecked the gsl a while back. the gsl isn't damaged too bad at all. he just hasn't had the time to make repairs to it. he keeps himself covered up with work but i'm hoping he'll be able to make the meet.

Crit, what I hope to do is a complete axle swap to gain disks and LSD at the same time. The SA is a bit of a Frankenstein already so no harm will be done. I will be crawling under it next week and looking around good. I will see what I can figure out about the rear. I think any thing but an 83 rear will just slide in? More re4ading we certainly be required before making a purchase. Thoughts?

Paris Auto Show today. I died a little inside.

Haven't seen much from Mazda other than their Shinari concept that's old news anyway.

The big-bearing axles that came out in late 83 have a different-sized input flange. If you want to use an S3 rear axle with LSD, you'll need to grab the driveshaft and parking brake cables from the donor. If you stick with 81-83.5 hardware, you can swap the LSD in separately, or just swap the axle and parking brake cables. If you do find an 83.5 to 85 rear end, though, just make sure it's out of a 12A car, not a GSL-SE, at least in the case of an easy swap. If you do find a GSL-SE, you'll want to swap the whole suspension.

Keep in mind, too, that all 81+ cars have different brake fittings than you do, so you'll need custom brake lines, which we can source for you locally on the cheap, in order to put a Series 2 axle under your Series 1 car.

That's what weekends are for Carleton, get that thing put back together!

Yeah I agree Collin, that is an interesting picture, those OGTA's are an intense group, even when they're just looking at the ground! You got any snow up there yet? How's the Crown Vic doing?

Pics of the GF's and wives are looking good guys, keep them coming!

Pics from the Paris Auto Show:

I agree Tim, not much to get excited about. But this Lamborghini doesn't look too bad:

Wow... Not only does the cooler weather bring out the best in the rotaries, it seems to really get the OGTA crowd chattering. I take a day off and you guys have filled 2 pages on the OGTA thread.

I threw up a bit when I saw the new Elise. Plus, it's heavy now (2400 lbs). I do like the new Elan and the Elite though. And the new Esprit looks real nice, and will be nasty with the 620hp LFA motor.

Yep those old lotus' are going to be worth a lot of money someday, an internal combustion engine-powered rocket of less than 2000 lbs. A Fantasy, for sure.

At the OCT OGTA meet, I'll be sporting a couple new FB's I recently added to my stable, ebay purchases:
