Well if GKW and AWS make it, and bring their 7's (the FB will be fine AWS) then we should have a good shot at the record.
AWS congratulations on the job and making it clear to your new employer where your priorities are. Are you sure I won't get arrested if I let you use my ID to by me a beer?

That would be a lot of botox.
I've got an idea, why don't we use this get together to get rid of RX-7 parts we don't need? I have a few:
Complete brown carpet set. The front and back floor carpets are in very good shape (I actually have three sets of these) and the rear deck carpet is still intact, but well worn.
Brown leather head rests (I have lots of these, for some reason).
Some brown interior plastic parts (but Greg got most of the good stuff).
And various other things, if I don't need it it's yours.
Let me know and I'll bring it along.

Airflow is my life
Yeh we need to line Carl and Wacky up for a direct comparison, I hear they're pretty old too (those guys have been posting on this site since the last century). Can you guys make it for the September meeting?
And Paul, I don't see why you couldn't cruise up too, Valdosta isn't that far away. We don't want aws to be the only guy under 20!
For the record, I'm admitting that at 55 I'm the oldest of the old (although I don't look a day over 50). Yet another record that needs breaking.

You know what, thats true, the fact that I have been on here since the last century, not the abacus part.

Good news Carl, the Old Guys with 12As meeting is on a Tuesday night, not a weekend. So that means you can fly in on the corporate jet and have a few beers with us. Bring the abacus, we can use it to check the bill.
AWS, I just happen to have a spare wiper/turn/lights switch assembly for the 85 GSL, I'll bring it along.
Mike, if we start another thread, it won't have all those pictures of your smiling face in it. I see a lot of the other cool clubs keeping a running thread, it makes a nice chronicle and a single location for all club-related information. So if it's OK with the members, let's just use this one thread for announcements and all official club business, Like "whose paying for the beer"? I think AWS said he was picking it up next time.

So... You guys did say young guns with 2nd gens are allowed right??
If it helps, i've owned two 1st gens!! And one of them a freind owns now! Maybe i'll steal it for the night...
But yeah, im going to TRY and make it out in my TII. I was supposed to work on it last week, but my appendix had enough of me and wanted out wednesday, so it will be tuesday morning before Im allowed to drive. Then I can go pick up my new slave cylinder, put it on, and get a tag for it .
If not, well I may have to wait until next month. But will try. Representing Oakwood/gainesvegas.

It would be good to see you there Austin, better in your friend's (previously your) 1st gen, so that we have better chance at breaking the record. But the TII would be nice too.
I checked the club bylaws and as I suspected, under no circumstances will a second gen count as a 1st gen, even when driven by someone with a bad appendix, or one recently removed. If you are having a hard time pushing the clutch pedal in, you might catch a ride down with AWS, he lives in Oakwood.
So Old Guys, that meeting is tomorrow night at Jeffrey's in Suwanee, 7:00 of course!

Haha. Yeah i have to call teh doc and see if im allowed to abuse myself by driving my car.
Talked to my friend, his dad is getting around in the 1st gen right now, so if i make it out, it will be in the tII. Im sorry to hear that it won't count as a 1st gen because of my appendix (Or lack thereof). I tried!
If i decide i am too gimp to drive, i may see if aws is up for having a passenger. But im pretty determined.

It will be good to see you Mark, hopefully you can coax one of those Garage Queen 1st gens to come along with you for the ride.
Austin and others have asked about 2nd gens, SEs and 3rds gens, so I looked into the archives and found the following:
SEs are considered experimental RX-7s. Although fitted with the less reliable fuel injected 13Bs, they are considered a 1st gen in spirit. Therefore:
1 SE = 1 1st gen
The fuel injected, turbo'ed, overweight porche-imitation 2nd gens still have a rotary engine, albeit a 13B, so they are also counted towards the Record:
2 2nd gens = 1 1st gen
The degenerate, twin-turbo'ed luxury 3 rd gens also get credit:
3 3rd gens = 1 1st gen
So the record stands at 3.5 1st gens (3 real first gens and one circling 2nd gen). Could tomorrow night be THE NIGHT?

So i made the trek from oakwood to norcross to pick up my tokiko slave cylinder.
Got home and looked for my title for about... an hour. Although the rx7 is insured, i can only run a temporary tag until 3 days ago
Couldn't find it. Went to the tag office armed with a bill of sale and proof of insurance, No Go.
Contemplated making a scene at the tag office... Decided to leave it for another time because it was actually my fault this time...
So i don't think the t2 will be making it until next month. Sorry guys
-Austin
ps
You had better! When i bought my 83 that i had, the clutch needed to be bled before i left the house i got it from. It was so close, i was actually able to hold the clutch down, and lean out the open door to turn the ratchet!! Never been able to do that on any other car i've owned.

Ray, I will be uploading pictures when I get up tomorrow mornin, for some reason my card reader wont realise... well, that I took pictures haha. I also have a video of you driving rather spirited. So much for the MPG, eh? Oh, and when I upload it, dont tell the wife haha. She may make you stick to the protege.
PS - Thanks for the offer to stay there!
