Old guys with 12As club meeting
Hey some guy in Cumming saw me seafoaming my car (video soon) and I gave him an OGTA card, just wondering if he found this thread. Any reply from you Mr. witness-my-seafoam-and-drive-up-to-tell-me-my-water-seal-is-blown lol. I wanted to see that guy's Rx-7s, he said he has quite a few first gens.

Sorry it was me......I had all my girlfriends checking up on the thread

Hey Salvador, in the red FC out on I85, next OGTA meeting is Tuesday, October 6, 6:30 pm at Jefferies in Suwanee, just off the Rt. 317 exit. Stop on by! Billy invite the GFs too!
Colin thanks for the Jimmy McPerson essay! That guy was really cool, I can't believe they didn't teach us about him in high school.

check again this morning and found it. first pic fits the small shaft shifter. second is the old style 7 **** fits large shaft, other is a B&M 'T' handle i used in the 73 rx3 i used to have and fits the small shaft. third is just a **** i got that wasn't originally a shifter **** but worked on the large shaft.
Thanks guys, let me know if you do run across one. Not to concerned with the looks.
I figured I would just pick one up from summit.......Turns out you can only purchase crap shift ***** from Summit, Jegs or ebay. I am not much into skulls and dice
Not one simple, clean looking shift ****.

Ben - Do you still have that ashtray piece you got from Billy? If you do and you are not using it or do not want it please let me know how much you want for it. I pm'd you and called an left a message on your phone.
Thanks
Thanks
yeah, roland. sorry i didnt get chance to call you back today. i still have it, but it turned out to be for an 83 type center console and not for the 79. i still have it and dont have any use for it, but if you got an 83 center console, i'm pretty sure they're the same as the 79 though, except for the hole where the ash tray goes. i just dont have any 83's...let me know if you need it.

That original thread had a good run, too.

Crit: Funny you should mention that. I was just looking at that thread yesterday and was going to update it myself, but didn't have a chance. I'll update it later today.

Hey Dudes, someone clue me in on a rack and pinion steering conversion. I have a bit of play in the manual steering box in the Silver One that I don't want to live with so I need to consider options:
1. Pull and rebuild the manual unit in the silver car. Also replace all tie rod ends and the pitman arm, which are getting old ($160 for all the parts from Rock Auto).
2. Pull and replace the manual unit with a used power unit (minus the power) from one of my other cars, along with the steering parts replacement listed above.
3. Do a rack and pinion upgrade.
What would you do?

I hear that usually doesn't work and can cause more damage than good, crunching down on the worm gear. But I'll bite, how do you do it? I don't have anything that will get onto that big locking nut.
