DO you kow the specs on that turbo?
I know its a t78 BB but do you know wheel and a/r specs?

 

yeah i cant remember the last time you were out on a saturday night. Is the job treating you good. Im considering getting an FD when i get back off of deployment. We will have to see what happens with that i change my mind everyday.

So I'm pretty sure the coolant seals are gone on the car I just bought. Overheated last night driving home. This morning topped off coolant cranked the car with rad cap off. Fluid goes down so I added more coolant while it's running and it fills up and then just bubbles and goes make down. White smoke. I fear the worst..... Any hope guys?

Did you shut it off as soon as it overheated? What does the smoke smell like?

Good chance it is rebuild time.

PRessure test the coolant sytem. OR maybe compression check.

 

Nope just stock boost. The car still has cats so I know it can't be that high. Anyone looking for a good deal on a swapped t2. I'm pretty pissed actually. I'm pretty much done with rx7s

Pretty much same thing happened to me, spent $4k on an N/A that I thought was in tip top shape then turned out it we had to rebuild it because bad front plate hence the massive coolant leak. By the way guys Josh and I finally got all the parts on Friday and finished fixing the car today. Long story short had to replace injectors, water pump, and other parts along the way. Runs better than ever, but I'm posting her for sale today before something else happens that I can't predict. I'll enjoy her while I have her but I'm selling as soon as someone buys it for what I'm asking or gives me a good enough offer.

Ill tell you what. Im trying make steps to actually rebuild my first rotary.
If you are willing to buy the items to rebuild it we can try it together. Or as a group if anyone else want to help. I have a rebuild vid. And have read tons on this forum about rebuiding the engine. I think im pretty ready. I was going to rebuild my last motor but a lot of that engine was garbage. So i ordered a j-spec.

THe best way to have a cheap rebuild is to open it up and see what has failed.

I have a boost gauge I needed to install. But I haven't even pushed it that hard I've gotten on it a little here and there but no hard pulls to redline or anything. I appreciate the offer but I'm done with it. I got burned I'm probably going to just try and sell it and get a s-10 or a ranger or honda product. I went and bought a new gsxr 600 this weekend. If anyone wants it I'm going to probably put it on craigslist for $1,500 and try to sell it or trade for something else. It still does run at this point I'm going to drive it tonight and see if it overheats again.

Im actually considering moving back. WOuld you know how much it is to ship a car there?
I have relatives in toa baja and there is a mini circuit track not even 10 minutes(savana seca) from my gandmas house. They do drifting and time atack. I think they do 2 car battles too. But Im stuck in garbage j-ville with no tracks..
