Okay guys. I finally tore the old engine apart today. Zack, I'll bring some parts Sunday to get your opinion on a rebuild.

Got the front bumper, fenders, headlight housings, mudgaurds painted. Still have ALOT of work but it is coming along for my initial " Macco" style paint job.

Just a couple pics. Se you all at the meet. We should be there to hang out till we eat. May bring a friendand let him drive the FC so he gets the bug

It's not all one color yet,.. but i think it is better than the red it was before.

Looks great Dave. I don't know about the SA. I still have a lumpy idle. I don't know if it's maybe a side seal not seated yet, or the flywheel swap has it out of balance. I wish I knew more about the compatibilty of the flywheel/counter weights. Zack. If you read this before the meet, give me a call. I need to know if it's safe to run the car as is, or should I be looking for a clutch set for the 225 flywheel?

all 12a rotating assemblies use the same counter weights so using the older or newer flywheel and clutch does not matter. the lumpy idle is something internal most likely but it just depends. i would have to hear it.

as of now i'm still good for coming out tomorrow!

Thanks for the positive words everyone. Still working on it but slowly it is coming about. I plan on being there still.Even if it does mean missing the Grand-Am AND ALMS races. Guess that's what that old VCR thingy is for huh?

Anybody know of any place local or otherwise that could cut some lexan covers for my lights?

And for the lexan:

http://www.dealsautoglass.com/reside...esidential.htm

My rents went to some glass place to have them custom cut a glass top for a table we have here. Length/Width/Height/etc. That website has lexan, try them out.

Not sure. I know there are some Nascar shops around here that make the windows for the cars. So Zack. Even if you are using the later 83-85 engine with the lighter rotating assembly, you can use any 12A first gen flywheel? If that's the case, I really need you to listen to this thing. Is it possible to have a side seal stuck, and cause a loss of compression on just one side of a rotor? Should I just haul *** down the road in it and hope it clears up? I really need this thing back up and dependable.

You should try some Marvel Mystery Oil. Great stuff!!
Don't know why I didn't think of the race shops. I have 4-5 within 3 miles of my house...D"oh!!

Thanks for the link Stu,(Just a reminder,..if you could bring the spring compressors that would be awsome)

Two business cards left on my car over the course of one week - I guess it's time to show. Just to do some last minute double checking here, 1pm behind O'Charley's tomorrow, right? I'll see you guys there.

Funny story for u guys, so i went to fire up my car yesterday (it's been sitting since the last meet). So i put the new fuel filter on and go to start it...no good. I check the fuses, replace one and still no good. I cut off the fuel pump and let it burn up any excess fuel just in case it's flooded, still no good. So then i check for spark, pull both rear rotor plugs and while they're both out my mom fires it over and she starts right up on one rotor, lol...only a rotary haha. But, i found out my trailing ignitor isn't firing anymore so thats one more thing to add to the extensive grocery list hehe

Ok guys. As of right now the SA will be coming. Stu and Josh came over last night. We pulled the engine back out and swapped the flywheel. Vibration went away. I still have a big street port idle, but me and Stu put about 25 miles on it last night (actually this morning at 4 am). I have decided that it will roll as is. If it blows, it blows. Right now, I don't care .
