Yeah adjusting that freeplay out makes a lot of difference, right Stu? Stu got to check out my steering one time when I gave him a ride.
Well I was going to adjust the box, did that and inspected the rest of the rack components...most ALL bushings are worn to the point of excess and the ball joint rubbers are all cracked, if they are even there anymore,Can't adjust that out. soo until those are replaced I will live with the sloppy steering for a bit.

Nothing like turning left to help the car go right, Dave. I got a perfect steering box with zero play in the track car. Just need to find out how to get the steering shaft out of the box. After that I put on all my Poly Bushing with new steering components

The fuel level should as close to the center of the "window". Dave, did you take the power off the stock leading coil? If you didn't, that will cause it to bite you. The second coil gets it's signal from the J109 off the dizzy, so changing the timing is still the same procedure.

Long, those housings are freakin beautiful! I hope you can get the 6port bridgie together soon. That is going to be badass.

Won't that cause me to lose my tach? I had also switched the igniters early on in the troubleshooting should i switch them back?

my steering was quite sloppy until yesterday when i replaced the idler arm bushings, it was missing the bottom one and the top one was VERY worn out which caused my steering to be softer than usual and a popping noise every time i turned or hit a bump. replaced those, the play in my steering wheel diminished greatly, it also got stiffer and the ride got a lot smoother too. it wasn't too expensive, i think it was 13 bucks for both at Advance. i still have a couple of bushings that are cracked, but i think they can hold out for a while longer.

True that. If the leading ignitor is bad, then you swap the leading with trailing, the tach should quit working. Easy way to test ignitors. So is the April meet going to be this Sunday to avoid Easter Sunday? Another question. If that's the case, then am I invited?

yes it is to try and avoid the easter holiday family commitments etc...

and i have no problem with you going/coming to it.

i am trying to get some routes set-up so people can go there own way or we can rally to a set point and meet up for lunch or something. I was thinking driving around for a while and stopping in Pisgah forest for some BBQ or something. I am open to ideas.. If you know good roads over that way share them. I know of a few from working in Asheville, but most of my time in that area was when I was very young and didn't drive, so road knowledge is limited

Well, the prudent thing to do is try and get a plan laid out for the run. If I can make it. I know how to go through the Stations Inn route. Like going to North Wilkesboro and back through Morganton. Where to meet up? How long? Yada, yada.......How Josh, you still got my dizzy?

I was just using the route through Stations Inn for a referance piont. It really doesn't matter where we stop. So what time are we going to be rolling out? About noon is the earliest I will be able to leave. This the easiest way. http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Trou...:::::f:EN:M:/e

Supposedly there's a serious virus going to be released tomorrow, I would suggest you guys install free anti-virus software if you don't have any..

My theory on that is that the virus designers and the Anti-virus program companies are in bed together.. Seems like an awfully good way to sell more programs, instill fear into the mass's and make them make foolish decisions. The group respoinsible is supposedly a group of young russian hackers. One of which is 14 years old and "earns" over 40k a year from his programs he creates that track you key stroke for key stroke. Even when you make a typo and backspace to coorect,... they see it real time. That would also include all private info, passwords etc.. So yeah be carefull for a bit and watch your bank statements for wierd activity!! Fortunately for me I am broke *** and have NO money in my account. ... maybe they'll feel sorry for me and contribute

Much like the Bush admin did with the whole war thing. Lie, scare and get what you want. It "seems" to have become the American way if you are in government.
