Oh, and I think the crapalier is living up to its name. On the way back, I took a turn (hard for american cars apparently) and the battery light came on. Dad told me that it does that sometimes. Well, about 20 miles from home the headlights look waaay too dim and the instrument cluster is like a night light. Then the ABS light comes on. I made it home and made sure it got parked in the mud. I like rotaries. Much easier, you only have 2 problems: It's running, or its blown.

Here is what I have layed out as of now. I am wondering about the oil control ring surface of the port. Do you think it will be OK? I am going to check it, but just curious of the opinion.. Also have to still make sure of the space for the water jacket clearence. Not cutting till I get all my precise measuring tools from my box's

I am cleaning the rotor housing tonight and maybe doing it tonight, we'll see. I need to get sleep as I am heading to the booth with Ant's car in the morning as it is warm enough to paint finally..

The oil control rings should not touch the port. IIRC, the inner side of the rings make the contact with the irons. Also, it is good to leave atleast 2mm between the eyebrow and coolant seal groove.

EDIT: Also, if you want to go bigger/closer, you can use a side seal and slide that into the coolant seal groove towards the port, and file it down flush with the housing/iron as reinforcement.

I know it should not tougch the port, what I mean is I think that the inner edge of the "extended" port follows the same arc as the original port Hence I do not think I wioll have a "smokey" engine due to the OCR's scraping oil into the port Would you agree that the inner edge should be safe? And yes 2mm is what I will leave, just need to get my calipers tomorrow after painting

I will need to get updates on the cryo's as they go for you. I am going with Atkins seals, just haven't decided to cryo or not. Can't wait to hear your brap. And in a couple months mine hopefully.

Yes it would be safe, that is how I do my porting. You don't want to have a port with a kink in it
