I dreamnt last night that I bought a blank manifold flange from Mazdatrix and ported it to match the custom runners i made. Then I looked at the website and saw that they actually DO offer a AL intake 6 port flange blank..only 138 bucks. Something to think about for when I do our FC

Dave, I knew you guys would have a problem with the intake. I also know a FD intake will not fit a 6-port FC. What would it take to get an intake flange for a 6-port? Then all you would need is to do a tublular lower half. Then you could make the intake bends however. I know were talking about some major fab work, but if someone here has some some aluminum welding skills (maybe Robby?), I know it could be done.

Well I have seen FD intake mani's on 6 ports. It takes some creative work. About the same as a T2 manifold. Which is also floating in my head.

If you read above I mentioned the flange. It is whether Josh wants to go that route or not. It may be more work but I think it is the correct way to go without extra headaches A couple of the guys at work are good with Aluminum welding so that isn't a big concern for me. We'll see what happens. It will be fun no matter what we do.

On another note Sam, I got the FB registered and on the road today I had a issue with the rear float sticking and overflowing into the engine.( Was this the float that was damaged/installed incorrectly? if you recall) Caused some flooding issues, Tapped it and it seemed to go away, I will keep an eye on that. Other than that, it is pretty fun so far.

It may just be the new needles haven't seated good yet. Just make sure the float level is in the middle of the sight glasses in both bowls. If the floats will not level out right, bring it by one day and I'll put another set of floats in it. I read your post on the flange, but I didn't know if there was one out there or one needed to be made. I'm with you on using the FD manifold. It would be the easiest route in the long run. If you guys come up with a simple way to do it, you know this will only be the first

dave, i see the flange blank your talking about on mazdatrix. are you thinking maybe cutting the factory flange off of the fd intake mani and rewelding the 6 port flange to the fd manifold? just a thought, im just trying to picture in my head how we can do this.

That or just making a whole new custom unit. But I think the flange would help out enough that we could join the 6 ports in somehow with some short runners or something. Like I said on the phone, you don't really have to leave the car. Couple reasons, 1 I don't have any more room. 2, I need to finish Anthony's car before I do another large project. And 3, I can use our FC as a test rig for fitting since it is the same. And Elizabeth can drive the FD or FB, whichever she desires while I test it on her engine.

Now that I have the FB running I will yank of my manifold and see what's what with the Fittment.

Well the carb is now overflowing on both bowls.. almost didn't make it home, kept stalling out..Time to pull it off tonight and see what's up. I put 2 new filters inline so i doubt it is gunk in there but could be. Update to come later tonight.

Dave, are you running the stock fuel pump? The Nikki only needs 3 psi at idle. The floats were set to the manual, but like I said before I have yet to have one exactly right without readjusting them. Nikkis can be pretty finiki, but when dialed in they are just as reliable as fuel injection.

I have no doubt about that. I am yanking it off in the next 1/2 hour. I'll pull it apart and see what has stuck or come loose/out of place etc.. I am not upset or even frustrated, This is exactly why I started driving it. To shake out the bugs and such. Good thing I have a reliable FD to drive on the FB's down days

I'll let you know what I find.

As far as I know it is a stock pump. Any tell tale ID marks that will tell me? Also I will hook up a FP gauge and see what it is doing, make sure it isn't overpowering the float needles.

I use parts cleaner and air. Also I use the big parts washing machine at work when they are really nasty.

Sam, All looks OK in the carb. I turned on the key to watch it overflow and grab a pic butt... It never did. I took it aprt anyways and saw nothing wrong, No debris, no adjustments out etc.. I like a car that fixs itself.

The FC has been giving Elizabeth oil pressure issues. I swapped the sender with the one off the other n/a engine, after cleaning it inside and out at work. And BAM..50-60 PSI at idle 100 reved under load I like having a spare engine for experiments.

You can clean it with carb cleaner. That is what I use, so far no ill effects! What are your plans with it?

Can't wait to see you driving the FB dave. That will be a sight to see!

Also, it looks like I may be getting my hands on a set of large SP, a BP, and Race Exhaust templates for dirt cheap The guy hasn't gotten back with me on if it is for a 12a or 13b. Hopefully 12a, if not, then I guess I will have a bad *** 13b...

Anyways on the way home I was dead next to a Mecklenberg Police. I decided to blast him and reved 2nd out till about 5.5 and shifted to 3rd....wait for it!.... BAM!!! like a shotgun into his door He looked over at me(I was looking for his reaction) and he just started laughing his *** off!! Good times with the popo!!

Large streetport, get the 6th port sleeves. I'm asking about the exhuast porting on an n/a, also do the e-fan and a lighter flywheel "damn that thing is heavy." Any suggestions would be great.
