not very many "mnts" in south east GA where im from. and if you would like to see about driver skill let me know.

One more thing so your saying that your car would keep up with a 400+hp car with some what of a decent driver?

Yeah, a 400 hp can can get beat by a slower car in the twisties because of the driver and knowledge of the road. I dynoed at 360 to the wheels, but had a very hard time keeping up (and staying within sight of) with David New's 1st gen in the mountains in north GA. He knows the roads a hellava lot better than me and more than likely never hit his brakes I did better when I turned the boost down to make less HP so to answer your statement above, yeah a good driver in a slower car can hang or leave behind a higher hp car in the twisties, just a matter of how big the driver's nuts are and how far he's willing to push the car.

so yer saying ishould be able to hang with a 360 hp 7 in my 150 hp Protege if i know how to drive..hahaha maybe i would just catch up in the turn, but as soon as i exit you would destroy my ***! id love to see your car as well. the only 7 i ever drove was a 93 with around 320 whp and that thing was too fast for me. maybe because i drive a slow car but it pretty much scared the hell out of me...but it was still fun!

I don't know about a protege, but I'd put money on David New's previously owned first gen (with him driving) against most anyone on the board on those N. Ga mountain roads.

OK im sure thier is someone that knows the mountains better than most and can "carve up the twisties" . Im going from the experience of some people i know. Dude took his car out to the scca races where their was some really awesome drivers and from what he said he sux at driving but he tore them up . So much they stuck him in a nother class . From what he said it wasnt from skill it was from the performance of his car

oh and the whole racing on the mountains thing . You couldnt get me to do that , its stupid you are not only putting your self at risk but others that arnt even involved in your race. Only way id race on a mountain is if i knew beyond a shadow of a dbout there were no one else on the mountain. Putting your self in danger racing is one thing but to put other in danger is a big no no

agreed, I wasn't racing David up in the mountains, I was just trying to get comfortable with my car on those roads. He, on the other hands, knows those roads and what his first gen could do and was at another level of comfort and therefore speed on the same road. No one that I know of was really racing, but you could tell who was faster none the less.

so anyways who all believe that they are going to be able to make it out to the show? i want to kinda start a running tally of how many ppl we have showing up in 7 amd what not so i can reserve spaces just for your cars. i personally am alotted 80, and the spots look to be going quick on the protege forums, but i want alot of 7's there, because lets face it no one really wants to see a protege. 7's on the other hand they do

I'll be there with a fresh coat of paint. I might even be sporting some new shoes for the car as well. ::crossing fingers::

Is this event still happening? I haven't heard anything mentioned.

Whatever happened to the pics of the last event?

As it stands right now, I'm planning to get down there for the show. I got my paint and my new front bumper. Unfortunately, the car looks kind of unbalanced since I don't have sideskirts yet. Ah well.

bump. . .Does ANYONE have a clue if this show is BS or if it's still going on? I'll be a little pissed if I drive all the way from Columbia to find out that it's cancelled or something.
