That being 85% duty cycle and making 380rwhp roughly. With the same injector sizes and the duty cycle at 100% it is suppose to put me around 450rwhp, which I am at 100% duty cycle now with my new turbo at lower boost. One thing is for sure, the car spins the wheels like crazy from 0-60mph or untill you let off in 2nd gear cause you start to slide off the road. I'm sure it would keep on spinning if i shifted hard into 3rd, but I haven't got the ***** to try it yet, at least without the peace of mind my fuel system is 100% good. Then I get to turn the boost back up to 18psi and really have some fun!!

damn, sounds like someone is begging for a moving violation ticket. lol

He's probably going to get the mufflers and make the rest of the exhaust. one of hyis mufflers has a hole in it, so he's gonna need them soon anywayz.

It never ceases to amaze me how thirsty rotaries are for fuel. The funny thing is that my GVR4 could easily put 450 to the ground with four 720's (and obviously the proper supporting mods). Not to mention it could do that all day for at least a couple years without blowing up.

I'm really starting to have second thoughts about getting a TII. Perhaps I should just enjoy the fine handling characteristics of my GTUs and leave the real (cheap) power to the DSM.

Well don't forgot i've been running single turbo and 18psi fully modded for 2 years now with 0 problems or engine failure. Don't be so scared of the rotary, it is your friend. Engine failure only comes from bad tuning, much like any other car. Besides, any car you mod ***** to the walls is going to have a limited life span, thats just part of the game.

Why doesn't Chris just do custum exhaust and have somone weld him some pipes to work with the headers? Its cheaper and not that hard to do if you find someone that is good with a welder.....you saw how i rigged up my downpipe.

Yeah, true, you're playing with fire any time you mod a car. It just seems that you can get a lot more (reliably) from certain boingers than spinners. Witness: 2JZGTE, RB26DETT, 4G63T. All big power producers, and all have relatively long life expectancies when tasked to the limit. Maybe it's because they have higher limits...

Of course, I COULD always just get 20B and slap that into my 91, but, really, I can't see justifying that expense (including all supporting mods) when I could spend a little more and have a brand new Evo or WRX that has the numbers right out of the box.

Man, I'm feeling seriously blue about this now. I'm suffering from performance deficiency (aka Hyundai ownership). Wish I had one of my 7's here to cheer me up... or maybe my GVR4

I think you are way too worried and have heard too many horror stories. Too many people don't know what they are doing when they mod and tune rotaries and end up blowing several engines. Its really simple, just keep air/fuels at 11:1 and timing from 30degrees at 0psi and taper it down to 14 or 15 degrees by 15-18psi on a turbo charged rotary. Fact is, unless there is some sort of bizarre mechanical failure the engine isn't going to blow.

Yeah, well, at least it's not running on R-12 so you won't have to **** a gold bar to have the system refilled.

Yeah, I ******* hate not being able to drive either of my cool cars. I'm stuck with this damn Hyundai for now. But, I may be buying the only 7 on base... White 91, blends right in with the snow.

And I have a line on a euro-spec S5 TII... weird to see a TII with rear seats, from the factory. Too bad it's not driveable (rollover, in a junkyard). But I have plans for the drivetrain (see previous paragraph).

hey, if you can salvage the rear seats you can make your 7 into a family car for when you pop the question to your girl and then pop somethig else with her. lol

Well, it's kind of comes down to money. I have to sell the 1990 Renault 21 4x4 wagon (yuk! I ******* hate ugly *** french cars), but I have some electrical gremlins to figure out first, so I can get some real money for it. I bought it for $800 back in October, but I wish I han't. I can probably get $2400 for it here, once it's all working properly, which is what that guy wants for his wrecked TII. Yeah, I know he's high, but it is the only TII in the country, as far as I can tell.

Of the remaining cars/projects I have here, I can only send ONE back for free. I would have to send anything else myself, which costs about $1500 per car.

I have this 90 Sunbird GT (2.0 turbo), that I bought for $75. Problem is, it needs a donor body, because the one that surrounds the (good) drivetrain is demolished (from previous owner sliding into telephone pole on icy road). I found a couple donors for the Sunbird's engine, but only one would be worth taking back. The other would be a straight-up trade for my Hyundai, though. I haven't figured out yet whether I want to go that route here, or just take the engine back with me and use it in the States. If I go to the trouble of putting this turbo engine in another car, I would really like to take that car back, you know what I mean?

I'm also not sure whether or not I'm bringing the rally car back with me. I am seriously considering selling it here, because I could get a decent amount for it, probably what I paid. If I can't sell it for a good amount here, I will probably send it back home.

If I get the white 91 RX-7 from this guy, I will probably send that back for free, especially if I get the euro TII and swap the motor. I would MUCH rather have that than my CRX rally car, even though the CRX would cost more to replace.

So, my dilemma is which car to take back, and what to leave/not mess with.

Man, why does my life have to be so ******* difficult?

Ren

well sit down and break ti down logically. don;t think with the heart.

which car would be most cost effective? which car would you actually get more use out of?

dont; think about which car you like more, think about the one besty for you. because you lways have the galant waiting for youa t home.

i realize that you are a car freak (like myself) and i feel your pain. i can only imagine what it is liek to have all of those vehicles with such potential and having to pick one.

i doubt that i could sit down and pick one of mine and get rid of the other two.

just my $.02

Ren, I feel you man, but definetly think it out logically...will you be rally racing when you come home? or do you just want to keep the ReX? and definetly think about the money. Thats what I had to do when talking about getting a new car. A new truck would definetly be worth spending 3/4 of my money every month on it, but then I would also owe the bank (which I dont mind, I need to establish some credit anyways); however I would have to then pay collision...too much for my blood.

SO...i'm keepin the ReX, checked out the suspension, she's all okay, just needs aligned. Rims are kinda screwed up, but I'd planned on buying new (wider) ones ASAP anyways. I'm going to try to get my parents to let me take out a small loan (3-3½ thousand $$'s) to just go ahead and get a StageII rebuild w/ large streetport from Rotorsports. I wont have to pay collision on an engine, I'll have my base race engine to start building, and it'll last for a very long time (plus it has warranty)...and most importantly I'LL GET TO KEEP MY CAR.

Still fixin' stuff one at a time
- Chris
