that would be one hell of an exhaust note would a one rotor be lighter than the usual mini motors? higher redline? and would you have to use a different tranny/rearend for that engine?

It might be lighter, that would be pretty close. It would have a higher redline and have more potential for power. Not sure about what kinda of tranny to use, keeping it fwd is an issue or converting it to rwd too.

Tony, I'm still working on trading shifts with my friend. I may have to just have someone work for me, but I will get off. I'm still interested in hanging out. I'm pretty sure Dan still is. We could just meet in the hotel lobby at like 5? and you could ride with me or Dan if we went anywhere (I'd pick Dan's car, his is a whole lot faster )

I'll know by the time you leave if I'm off or not, I'm sure I will be though.

George that sucks about your Dad man, I'll be praying for you guys. and yes, you are thankful for what you have, that's what makes you cool. Most young guys like you/me aren't thankful for the cars that they own (especially ones like yours) and they dont appreciate them. I guess we just know what it takes to earn such cars. Too bad you can't drive down and hang out with us George [teasing] cuz I'm driving down to a basketball game to watch Veronica cheer after, boy does she look hott in that uniform [/teasing] but I guess since you're stuck there, you can't come with me j/k man, you'll get to someday

I pm'ed tony my number so he can call me around 5 or so when I get off work. The rx7 is driveable again, but I got some sort of a bov problem, related to a hose I think. I'll have it fixed soon enough.

Yep, the mini is FWD, and i'm not sure if there is a way to make a fwd rotary, but anything is possible.

Well looks like I need to get a bigger blow off valve, seems as though this apexi bov can't keep up with the new turbo. So more babying of the car untill i get this fixed.

Hey George I still need to get the pics scanned from the first meet, as soon as I do I will get them posted. And I'm sorry to hear about your dad.

Chris, meeting at the hotel is fine with me. I will be in town around 4.

Dan, I'll give you a call since you don't get off till 5.

Aight, Dan, do you still have my number? (392-7924) call me as your leaving, and we'll just meet up. That sucks about your BOV...but at least its a cool problem to have lol. "Yeah, my new turbo is too big for my existing BOV, so I'm going to have to replace that too."

Now i have to go call people and beg them to work for me. I'll keep ya posted.

I got off work. So I'm free. I'm running to the Deli right after school to grab my check and swing by the bank to get cash and then whatever y'all want to do. Friday evening, should be a good evening to cruise Market street or whatever anyone else is up for.

Dan, did you get in touch with that guy in the silver FD? did you say anything to Todd about tagging along?

See ya tomorrow- Chris

Yeah the bov problem is compressor surge. Dragon from nopistons who uses the same turbo as me actually has two bov's. From what I understand the apexi bov isn't big enough for many turbos, its a nice unit and sounds good, but not quite big enough. Its wierd cause i here the whoosh from the bov, and then a slight rattle snake sound from the surge. If anyone has ever heard it before it just sounds wierd.

Dan, I know it won't be easy to make a rotary work in a FWD car. I was told by Dave at Mazdatrix that it wouldn't work, at least not in a transverse mount, because the e-shaft centerline is at the widest part of the engine, and that it's too wide to be able to put a drive shaft behind. That seems reasonable, especially in a small engine bay, like the Mini's.

If you could mount it longitudinally, though, you should have no problems. At that point, however, it would probably be better to just make it RWD. Or you could use an Impreza trannsaxle and go AWD...

Oh yeah, I guess I didn't mention it here, but I found out from the previous owner that the GVR4 I have ran a best of 13.9, though I didn't get a timeslip, and he didn't say at what speed. This was on the stock 14b at ~15psi and a slipping clutch. So, I decided to keep it after all. Yeah, it's not as fast as George's or Dan's cars, but it's at least something to start with...

Plus, how many guys do you know that have a 4-cyl 4-door that can outrun a stock Stang or Camaro?

BTW, George, sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope that doesn't happen. Damn, you just haven't had much luck lately as far as your family is concerned, have you?

Have you heard anything from that guy that was in the hospital yet?
