Gatlinburg is kinda between me and the Knoxville guys, we could all prolly do a run over that way once. Though be careful about noise in the city of gatlinburg...they are not terribly tolerant of the loud cars, but in the seveirville/pigeon forge area you can let it rip. Just let is know and im sure well make something up, im always up for a meet of some sort.

No point in replacing the rails unless you like wasting money. Basically you shouldn't replace anything on, or around, the rails except the PD.

you can send the injectors to be cleaned instead of replacing them, and the rails should be ok to still use

I'd be glad to help Jeremy. It's not that hard to get to, you just have to pull the intercooler and UIM.

Eric (Mike), your gas smell might just be leaky injectors if the PD looks fine and doesn't smell like gas. You'll know it if it starts leaking... there will be a strong gas vapor coming from the engine bay. Luckily your car is a S5 and the pulsation dampeners are supposed to be a bit more reliable. Mazda still didn't get it right though, even FD's have burned up because of it. Add it to the list of "recalls that should have been but weren't."

The Rod Run should make things even more interesting. A bunch of unturnable hulks making their way to Pigeon Forge through the mountains, which are already teeming with Mazdas and sportbikes going all-out. I'd hate to say it but I'm betting we're gonna have some incidents this year. Everyone who gets to go, be careful, watch the double yellows, and above all, be on the look out for Floridians on the wrong side of the road.

Ya i really need to pull my fuel injectors and check the o-rings, this morning when i left it ran like crap, after work i moved them around again and then it went back to running good,

btw. i just got back from the dragon again, lots of rx-7's up there,
Most of the drivers up there seemed really nice, would pull off and let me pass them
most of them seem to be doing ok as for staying on their side of the road too
the Motorcycles on the other hand didnt seem to have any regard for staying on their side

You know Jimi.. it's funny you say that about Floridians driving on the wrong side of the road.. Some annoying floridians just moved here and then like to drive on the wrong side too.

Woooooo fun day indeed.

Killed the oil cooler lines, saw a miata buried into the dragon, and watched bikers get there tickets en mass on the way home.

That was just the fun cruise to represent the rotaries. The real fun started right after that.

What were you driving btw?
