I saw a red 2nd gen by the Maryville Wal-Mart yesterday (off 129). Am I the only one that sees random 7's?

Also, I went to the Knoxville Zoo and noticed they have a huge open vacant parking lot next to it. There's no street lights or anything in it. I'm thinking it'd be a good place for Auto-X or something if we could work it out with the Zoo. Like... we go to the Zoo that day and they let us use their parking lot?

This means a trip to mazda, which brings up my next question.....Did anyone else get an E-mail from Mazda of North America?
I replaced the bushings/boots a while back. It's not particually hard, just make sure you put everything back on in the right order. I put the inner boot on in the wrong order and had to take it off which was next to impossible. It required 2 screwdrivers, some grease, and my girlfriend... kinky...

I haven't seen any random 7's lately, I guess they're in hiding over here. How about that wind yesterday? That made driving a 2300lb car interesting.

Isn't the zoo right off of a major highway/interstate? Hard not to get caught in a situation like that. Good luck getting them to sanction it too. We really need somewhere that would host something like that. The SCCA stuff is getting rediculous. 30 bucks + gas and you're lucky to get 4 runs in a day. If we could start up a small club and secure a space, it would be a lot more fun.

Shifter bushings aren't that bad but I remember it was a pain to get everything out. It's probably easier if your bushings are still a little bit intact, mine weren't.

i went to the gap yesterday in my HONDA!! i need a7!!! i could have one but i would have to sell the honda and i really have to have a backseat. so im s.o.l. i drove jeremiahs vert and fell in love with it. last night i drove an 86 base with a mild bridgeport and a weber. the guy wants 1700 for it. its not worth that price. it sounded good but was slow due to the fact that the carb is too small.

Yeah, it's right near the highway. It'd be nice if we could get them to sanction it. It's the only spot I've seen so far in Knoxville that would work...

Hmmmm, anybody know any people at McGhee Tyson?

Drift meet at the airport, that would be interesting. Those lots stay pretty full though, unless you're talking about the Tarmac. The FAA would have no problem with that, maybe some Beechcrafts could join in and do some wing draggin'

Oh dear god...I did hit the 1000+ mark... Its all your fault you know >.>

But a nice drift spot would be nice, old airports or even the smaller onces would be nice. Hell, why not see if we can con a place into letting us refurbish there lot with a new rubber topcoat?

Well, damage from the dealership has been assessed. 30bucks for the steel plate to hold down the shifter, 11bucks for a bushing set (need 2 sets), and 60bucks for the entire rubber boot section.

30 bucks for a steel plate? Mazda. I got everything from Mazdatrix minus the steel plate. I don't recall it costing that much! That's why our stock market is plummeting to oblivion... because Mazda charges too much for their parts. They're ruining our economy with overpriced shifter assemblies.

I think I had to replace the boot on mine. I dunno, it's been a couple years. Mazdatrix seems to carry most of the stuff that the dealership does and more.

Mazdatrix basically goes to the local dealership, buys stuff, then resells it. At least that's what it looks like to me.

Yeah most of the stuff they sell is still in the original Mazda packaging. They do have some aftermarket stuff too.

It's supposed to be in the mid 60's on Saturday so no worries about heat. Should be a really nice day as long as it doesn't rain. Bring out the NA, I haven't seen it in forever. Or better yet, get some rope and bring both.
