Checking for vanity plate availability.

I'm sure there's a site out there that lets me check the availability of vanity plates in my state, but I'm getting frustrated searching for it. If someone knows of one, could they please post it?

If Florida is like Texas they don't keep an index of the personalized plates. You get a form and fill in your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice. If your first choice is available you get it. I don't know if you ask them on the phone if they will do it or not.

I just did it when I went to the DMV. I had a list of about five plates I would want. I kept reading them off, and she kept typing them in and telling me it was taken. I actually ended coming up with WANKEL on the fly. To my surprise, it wasn't taken.

Here in Cali, the California DMV site allows you to check any combination you want and its availability....I just got OLDROTA....wanted BUZZZ1N but they didn't like the "1" being used as an "I", I guess they think that two cars with a similar plate in the whole state is bad....*******.

Yeah, I doubt they would let you get that plate for that exact reason.

Mine was HDP 7 but now it's just plain HDP... no reason for anyone else to get that.
