There were 4 Vettes that were supposed to go and none showed up. Two stock C6 Z06s ran into serious legal problems and got their cars impounded. One nos vert C6 Vette belongs to an RX-7 owner and he didn't show. And the guy from my job with the fast C4 wasn't able to fix his tranny in time. I didn't care, there were plenty of exciting cars to go against and we had a blast. Much props to all who showed up, I am hooked on the 1/4 mile so I will continue to go back whenever I get a chance, I'll let you guys know when.

Hello everyone...
It was great to read how fast you guys were able to go down the 1/4 mile track. I saw Directfreak on friday afternoon over by Brandsmart and he told me how many of you guys were going. I wanted to go but I just now got back after spending the last 5 days at the hospital taking care of my mother. She hasnt been well as some of you know she has cirohsis of the liver and at times it gets very difficult for her and this past week was the worst yet. Some of the people in the club called me to see how she was doing so thanks for the calls. She is out of the hospital today.
I would like to see the video as Directfreak told me that Tai would be on hand to get some of the footage.
I spoke to Phil and he told me the times that you guys clocked in at and sorry to hear that Outkast (Roland) broke his diff.
Congratulations to the guys that went up to Moroso and had a great time showing people what RX7's can do.
I spoke to Rob today and his project car is coming along great and he said that he wants to know as I when we can all buy the tickets together for the Homestead Speedway event in March. I met a guy with an FD sunday night over at a Circle K named Jeff .. he didnt know there was an RX7 club so i let him know about you guys going over to Moroso.
I will talk to you guys soon...

Roland
John (V8KILLA) came but he got there pretty late due to the traffic also. He didn't want to risk sitting in the line all night to probably get one run.

Hey Roland
Sorry to hear about ur rear end snapping. I couldn't get the tranny and clutch fixed in time to make it like i told u i would. Good runs by freak and oscar, but word out on the street hang-outs is that most of the 3rd gens from the club got walked on even by ricers on friday night. i know a few of the guys were probably nervous and **** and screwed up but lets redo the event sometime soon. i should be ready by the following weekend the 4th of march. let me know as soon as u are ready. if u need any help let me know.
By the way good runs by the trucks and congrats to ur wife for the good runs saturday.

Thanks a lot and sorry you couldn't go. Although few of the 3rd gens had bad runs, I give them much props for showing up and practicing. They are doing the right thing rather than being ricers on the street. I think what most people need to work on is the 2-3 shift (do it slower, it's better to find it slow than to miss it fast) and the launch (hardest part, I suck too). Also make sure you're shifting at the right rpm (not too low).
I really look forward to going back. Although it's far it is a great time especially when all of you come.

stock twins and good tires, launch around 3300-3800 rpm the trick is to feather the clutch to get it out of the hole faster
single turbo 7's, launch aroun 3800-4000 rpms if your making full boost at 5000rpm, than launch around 4000. if your making full boost at 3800 (like i was with my t04s) launch around 3600-3800 rpms.
i hooked fine and had great 60ft times by following these methods both when i had the stock twins, and when i had the single.
this worked for me so i can be positive it will work for you.
oh, DO NOT EVEN TRY TO GET INTO 5TH GEAR. in first and second, shift at 7500-7800 rpms
and just ride 4th out until the end.
these may sound like stupid bits of advice, but when i first started doing 1/4 mile runs, these where all things i was doing without knowing any better.
this was my first time taking the miata out. also, its my first time using Falken Azenis r-615's so i didnt know the launching properties or either of them. (i had the tires put on thursday night)
first run of the night, no burnout. i get a 13.51 with a reation time of like 1.8 seconds (terrible)
second run, i did a small burnout, i got alot of wheel hop and had to let off. i got a 14.08
third run, tires where already sticky so no burn out. i launched, still got wheel hop and had to let off again- 13.99
all these runs where @ 12 psi.
next time i go out there, which might be this friday again, im turning up the boost to 15 psi and come hook or crook, im getting into the 12"s some how. I know my car can do it, its just gonna take a near perfect run.....hopefully the rear can handle it.
as far as the ricers beating the 7's, im sorry but thats BS.
The guy who owned the black fd, I think his name was Nelson or something, he ran the cobra that i beat on my first run and he beat him.
red7 that was out there raced a nissan ser and the fd won.
same red fd raced a volvo and lost( i think the red 7 had a bad start from what i saw.
simon raced some yelloe domestic i think, and i dont remember the out come of that one.
eitherway, no one went out there with the desire to "beat" anyone. We all went out there to have a good time. It turned out to be an awesome time! So as far as any challenges go, the biggest challenge of the night was all of us trying to do our best. thats it.
(damn this is the longest post ive ever written.....my boss found my writting it and i got yelled at lol)

The black FD belongs to Noel. He did most of his own work. He only ran a high 13 because unfortunately he hurt his engine in 3rd gear. The mean Cobra he took out also messed up, otherwise it would have been a great race. I think a 1.8 60' foot is ok for amateur drivers. Although a pro could cut that in a bone stock FD, I got a 1.88 on my 11.53 run, and my Syclone got a 1.80.

Congrats on taking care of 1st Gen the way its meant to be taken care of.
You could also let air out of your tires too for the same effect next time.
I needed to let some more out myself. Especially with my bad 2.3,2.4 60 foot times.

I'm sure it was weird for you Alex LOL...
I hope you can rest now knowing she is beeing taken care of and being treated right.
I had the tires at 18psi. I might try 15 psi next time but the tires I was useing were from my other SE that has been siting in the driveway for the past year so the tires might be a little hard. Lets see what we get her into on the next track night.
