Seat belts don't lock?

Hi guys, I recently bought a 91 N/A Fc. It seems like none of the seatbelts "lock" when I pull them really fast. Are they all broken or do the seatbelts for my model/year just not lock up?

The seatbelts rely on a change in intertia to lock the mechanism. So, just yanking on it won't activate it. Get up to 10mph and stomp on the brakes to test if they lock up.
It is possible that they are in fact broken, so use your best judgement.

i would suggest slowing down rapidly and tugging on the belt, but i guess a bruise on your head will also tell ya if it's not working.

Pull it out all the way, let it back in a little then see if it locks.
