That was a great video... I was finially in one. Thanks. As for going again, im going on march 24, which is a friday, with my car club if anyone wants to go. We got some fast cars if anyone want's to try against them, but there all first timers. Thanks for the vid again. sick.

It's all good, if you go to the track you will find that a lot of potential 12 second cars also run 14s and 15s, not just RX-7s. For example the countless 15 second 350Zs and the dozens of modded SRT-4s and Lightnings that seem to have a really hard time breaking into the 13s. The only way we will improve is if we keep going back with a good attitude and learning from experiences.
Nanny nanny boo-boo, the worst time my car ever ran was a 13.2 and only once, haha. I threw away the timeslip and did not include it in my video. Nanny nanny boo boo.

 

i was bout to say, those times on every car there 7's and muscle were runnin some sad times, but then thats why they say "practice makes perfect". hope to see DF do a 1/4 run sometime. but to whoever ran those 12's: awesome....

 

I am really thrilled that my 1st gen (Black/Silver) was captured on the video. Even though my runs SUCKED I was glad to have seen them. Like Roland said, practice makes perfect, and I for one will be getting to the track more often to get my lauch down. It was the first time I took my 1st gen to the track and it is totally different than running it on the streets.

Directfreak ran low 12s in the high 120s all night. None of his runs were in the vid because he plans on making his own video. Lwnslw, sorry I wasn't sure who that was but don't worry, if I'm not mistaken you improved your times a little throughout the night, and the video shows that you got a lower 15 than that yellow domestic. Cool to have you all there and on the vid. From now on I'm only going to Moroso in my car / truck, any other place is just too boring or illegal.

 

Yep. Sorry about that too. I forgot to let Tai know to film the Miata as well.
He doesn't frequent the board here very often, so I know he missed your posts
about coming in a Turbo Miata.

Next time, there will be more footage, especially some In-Car footage down
the track in wide 16:9 Format. The plan is all coming together..

 

I can honestly say that I improved my times dramatically.
My 1st run was a 17.10 with the tires at 20psi and nothing but wheel spin in 1st and 2nd gear, and by the time I peddled the gas it was to late.
My second run was with the tires at 18psi with it bogging on the launch but she took off like a rocket once I floored it and beat that domestic V8
getting a 15.91.
So it was definitly a good improvement over the 1st run. Just wait till next time

 

Were you guys not hooking up at the track? Cause those times..eeeeekkkkkk.

 

The track was sticky enough for me.... LOL
If the track hooks that just means you can launch at a higher rpm, it is still possible to spin if the rpms are too high or the tires suck. Also, people that shift gears while still spinning tend to bog real bad in the next gear... It is great that we are practicing so we can become better drivers and win more often.
