I want a couple of very fast RX-7s to back me up racing two '06 Z06 Vettes. I have asked for this in the past and no one responded. I have a 400hp FD that runs low 12s. I was forced to go by myself and defeat the Vette. This time it's different. My car is ragged out and the Vette is coming with more experience and possibly mods. My question is:
Are there any rotaries in FL that would be willing to go to Moroso to defend the honor of rotaries vs. big new V8s???
There are thousands of people on this forum, hundreds from FL, but when it comes down to it, AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT GOES RACING?
(illegal street racing stories vs. hondas don't count)
Any hardcore racer would be ready to go out on video against some bad *** pistons on short notice especially when I'm trying to make it into a rivalry like this.

There are plenty of RX-7s that race but not all of them are on here. Also you're down South. I'm sure some RX-7s from up here would like to put those Z06s in their place just as much as you do

Whst's the date?

 

There is no date set, last time we tried to do this we ended up going almost a month after we planned to. It would definitely be on a Friday, as it is the easier than Wednesday for people to get off work early, and on a day that there is only Test and Tune (to ensure we get a lot of runs). It will also be towards the end of next month, to give everybody time to prepare. Possible dates : 2/10, 2/17, or 2/24 (Midnight Madness).

DRAG STRIP SPECIFICATIONS

• Longtitude: 80* 19.7 Min West.

• Latitude: 26* 54.5 Min North.

• 23Ft Above Sea Level If it doesn't rain a lot.

• The Drag Strip is 1/4 mile asphalt with a 330ft concrete launch pad.

• The dragstrip shut area off is 2,401’ with 2 turnoffs

• The timing system is Compulink and there are permanent restrooms and gas pumps on site.

• Children 11 & under are allowed in for FREE at all events.

• Complete concessions and NEW GRANDSTANDS.

• Private Track Rental: The Drag Strip is available for private rental.

• Dodge Dealer Street Drags are held every Wednesday and Friday throughout the year from 6pm to 11 pm.

• Rescue on site: Every event has emergency rescue services

I would say that the 360+ rwhp in your sig is sufficient to give everybody who's going a hell of a run. We are not pros, I am just trying to get anybody with a decent car to go, my car is limping, I'll be in the 12s all day. An FD needs 340 rwhp to hit 11s, as a rule, remember that. It's all about having fun and going together to make a cool video.

 

Please keep us in the loop... I will be there to back you up. I don't know if I will have my car ready, but I will be there to help with anything that you may need.

I definately want to go this time, I just need to change out my leaky Oil Cooler, and get the car ready for the track again.

I just ordered two replacement drag radials for the adventure.

 

If alex goes I cant wait to see that its going to be like look at that POS no offence there and then more like where did he go????? We will be waiting to see some video futage.

P.S. there is a guy up here that is putting a built 20B with a GT40 turbo in his FD now if he could just get it finished then it will be fun he is planing for about 900 whp.

 

Gah! I've been to Moroso a few times (to watch), but that's a good 11 hr drive from where I live now

 

if this is really about a month from now, ill get a chance to buy the microtech again and tune it... Last time I got 488.

after steve kan tunes my car and depending on the results if i can leave out of there with atleast 480hp or better anyway am sure that the car will be running alot better so keep in touch with me guys.Roger.

 

I am honored and privileged to motivate this many "big juice" people. I have gone to Moroso numerous times before, just my me, my wife and my rotary. I have run 13s and spanked people in my automatic FD (sold), I have been humiliated in our gorgeous but slow automatic RX8 (sold) and have run low 12s my first time out at 10 psi in the infamous "ugly white" FD I still have. I have run mid 11s five times bitchslapping a 500++ hp '06 Z06 Vette and even beat a turbo Z28 Camaro with my broken clutch. I have only been able to share about 25% of my adventures online. I now drive mega-powerful diesels and turbo Chevy trucks since I work for the local GM dealer (60 hours a week), but I still have two 450 hp FDs . If you guys back me up like this I will buy a brand new computer that specializes in editing videos and never goes online to catch viruses, and I will make us look great. After all, I've owned 14 RX-7s and have a rotor tatto so I shouldn't let that all die off just because I have a near stock truck with 700+ torque and Cadillac pays my bills. Props to all the true RX-7 racers and we will tear up the track one more time soon when we can get all of us to show up to Moroso at the same time. I am sick of standing around in a parking lot catching a sunburn with cars that have never seen track. Sorry, live is short and time is precious, let the hondas hold car shows and let the rotaries make clouds fall out the sky by running high octane with no cat at the track and burning soft rubber!

 

Back on the subject, the possible dates still stand, depending on good weather and when the most people can make it. I wonder when judgement day comes how many are still standing. I just have to do a minor tune up and fix my clutch. I am ready to get kicked out or break. The video will speak the truth of who came and who ran. RX-7s are not daily transportation therefore RUN or be a showcar (I'll rub my ***** on a slow *** show car)

 

Let's not be import drift *** cars like 350Zs and S2000s. Let's come out and hook up hard and rip down the 1/4 mile. I don't want to see modded FDs running 13s anymore!!! (Hello, all you need is power, clutch and tires) Thank you, you guys rock!

 

And you forgot to mention, a trailer, for those that snap something.... If I go, im bringing a trailer cus Im pretty sure Ill pop something in the fc...
