Anyone on the board from or near Athens? We are thinking of moving there, and I was wondering what the 7 scene was like locally.
thanks, dave

I'm in Jefferson, about 10 miles NW. Pretty lonely and I've never seen a 7 in Athens, but plenty of friends down Atlanta way. Athens is a nice town, great place to live.

And I'm another ten miles away from Ray, were pretty hard pressed to get the 7 drivers together around here but were working on it.

I'm near Loganville... though that is still a bit of a drive to Athens.

You may not find many 7's in Athens, but a pleasant 1 hour drive will put you in Lawrenceville (NE Atlanta). First Tuesday of the month there is a meeting of the Old Guys With 12As Club. We are 1st gen snobs, but more than willing split a pitcher of beer with anyone who will help pay the tab.

I'll have to do that for sure. We need a 1st gen to complete the seven family.

Anyone going to the lemans race? We are going for the full 4 days i think. For sure at least 2 and raceday. we'll be in the turbo saab but would still like to meet some "locals" while we are there.

Thanks everyone for the input.

Will do. I'll bring the laptop and hope there is a wireless connection around.

I'm down in Gainesville, and I'm always with my buddy up in Jefferson. He's got an 87 red GXL and I've got a 87 gray SE. There's some electrician with a maroon S4, and 2 FB guys who work at Food lion and some place by kroger off 129. A meet'd be cool.

On another note, what are emission laws like there, I lokked on DMV but could not locate anything. Thanks guys for the info.

I'm in the Oakwood area with a couple of 3rd gens. My red one is almost restored with the following:

Delrin Bushing kit
Tokico Illuminas on all 4 corners
H & R Springs all around
PowerSlot Slotted Rotors
Hawk HPS pads
Russell Stainless Braided brake lines
HKS Hi-Power Catback
Turbo-back full exhaust
Walbro Fuel pump
Power FC w/Commander
HKS twin air filter kit

and I'm prob. forgetting a few things!

I'll be trying to get rid of the other one soon. The other 93 is a touring model. The color is the Montego Blue (bluish-green). Inside is tan interior (needs to be replaced or just gutted and turned into a race car). It is a roller as of now with no engine or trans, but it will come with a blown engine. It has a REBUILT title which means it had a salvage title on its history before. It was inspected before I purchased it and it now has a REBUILT title. This means it CAN be restored and driven on the street with no problems. I honestly paid $5,500 for it in the same condition that it sits and I would be asking the same price of $5,500. The body is straight with a few dings and I will post up more info when I am ready to sell it. If any of the local guys wanna check it out, feel free to PM me and we can meet up.
