Hey all! David here from Athens, Georgia.

First off I do not own an RX-anything. I DO however own a 76 280z. I also don't own a left leg so I'm running automatic transmissions in all my vehicles

My reason for joining is simple, I will be frankensteining it up with a first gen RX-7 auto tranny which happens to be the older brother of the 3 speed sitting in my Z. I am here for both knowledge and hopefully parts. Once I source a 4N71 I'd like to rebuild it so I know it will last. At the least I'd be taking it apart and inspecting the guts. Anyways I absolutely love forums and getting to chat with people who are way smarter than myself so I think I'm in the right place!

Can you get torque converters for rx7s with a higher stall speed for better launches? That would make an automatic pretty fun.

 

That would be nice if I could! Especially since the L28 is a high powerband motor. I miss being able to clutch dump. I'm going to have to look into that.
