You guys just make me laugh..

Still avoiding the question when you ran the shows for past 2 years. As mentioned before, what did it cost for you to bring one person in for free in the past two shows.. Man you try to dodge the questions and just keep saying I'm cheap.. WE ALL KNOW THAT BY NOW!! LOL!!

Last year and year before several 7 owners DID showed up. Some parked their cars in the back and some didn't have their cars with them. So, don't think that I didn't do the job that I promised. Job you've asked was to pass out the flyers and not provide you with 100 people to attend your show. Also, you make it sound like this was my job... COME ON!! It's call HELPING!! I never asked for monetary compensation!! As mentioned before, I helped.. I think you keep thinking that you are hiring people and paying people BIG money!! Do you think other forum members are doing this for the money?? If so, you are so WRONG!! So, get your attitude straight and re-read my posts.. When you start calling people that they are cheap and all they want is a free pass that might cost you $3-$5 bucks, you'll get response like mine. And people who are helping are spending more money on gas and time to come and show support, you call them cheap and didn't do their job?? GEEZ!! I think you guys need to see the otherside of all this... Like I said earlier, I'm wasn't bringing some un-modded 7.. I've bought a clean modded cars in the past 2 years... Spent over 20 on gas to come down and 8 hours of my time. Last year I was there for 3 hours.. waited in line for at least an hour of those 3. So, don't make it sound like you guys are doing some huge favor for me..

Bottomline, Your gimick isn't for me.. I realized you don't appreciate people's help and care more about how much money you could make using others. Hence, My BOYCOTT!! One person's boycott clearly shows your attitude toward those who helped. I state again, I never asked for monetary compensation. Not now, Not last year, and Not 2 years ago. So, calling me cheap when getting one person in for free might cost you guys $3 bucks (Not $15 or $20)?? Do you get that concept, I would spend more money going to other events passing out flyers for $3 to $5 bucks, do you think i'm in it for money??. And on top of that when I bring quality car to your show?? GEEZ.. Do you still not understanding the point I'm making?? Obviously you guys don't!! Because, all you see is that I'm trying to get in for FREE!! That's right.. I'm cheap!!

Now I whine and complain and ask others to boycott it because they wouldn’t give me free entry. Wouldn’t you think someone acting like that is pretty ridiculous? Well, you are doing the EXACT same thing, only with a car show, not a movie. You need to realize that IFO has done NOTHING wrong to you...
I haven't read the rest of the thread yet...so if this has already been covered, I apologize.

Your analogy is a little bit flawed. In your analogy the main attraction for those people to come is the movie, which is of course owned by the theater. In a car show, the main attraction is rare/high end cars that people want to see. In this case, they are not owned by you...the promoters. IE-A better analogy would be that you owned a theater with no movie to show...or a really crappy movie, and Phil offered to bring you a hot off the presses blockbuster movie that everyone will want to see, and he'll even bring some people with him to see it...all you have to do is allow him to bring that movie to your theater for free. Now do you see how your analogy is flawed? The key to a successfull car show is getting the people with the desirable cars to come. No one wants to pay to see a bunch of Civics with rims and a system. Make sense?

You're right, Academy. IFO does not own the cars at the show, but you need to realize that IFO puts up the THOUSANDS in cash, trophies, and prizes that attract these cars. Do you think these cars would all come for nothing? IFO also pays for the venue, insurance, and staff that gives competitors and racers a safe, legal, controlled evironment. All competitors (200+, many fast and high quality) GLADLY pay the low entry fee for a chance to win some easy money, trophies, or prizes. Phil didn't want to paying like everyone else, no big deal.

And for those doubting the costs of an event like this, call up any drag strip in the country. Find out the cost of an all day spectator event with full staff and competitors insurance. Then factor in marketing, payouts, flying in midgets, etc. IFO is not some hang out or meet in a parking lot, but an organized race competition with legit classes/rules and cash payouts.

How interesting.... Obviously things aren't still getting into your head and you're still thinking I don't like to pay.. Right!!
Well, I acturally covered an event about 6-7 months ago at MMP (organizer got me and a friend in FREE!). Unlike your event, there were actural PRO drag racers were there (Jesus Padilla, Carlos Gonzales Jr., and few others... I hope you heard of those guys??), and not even close to the number of people were at this event (maybe 100 spectators max!). The organizer acturally paid at least half of the racers to come up, paying for their gas, entrance fee, lodging, food, etc..

It almost like your trying to say you are not making any money.. Hmm.. Don't you charge people to enter the race?? don't you also charge vendors to come out?? also the car show?? Come on!!! I just love how you keep dodging my questions and still stating the same thing over and over. Well, let me state it again!!

I'll put it this way and tell me if I'm wrong...
You expect someone to help you spread the word of your event (you do know it takes time?? And each person's time is different, hence my comment about that I'm not some teen looking to make pocket change.. Just as you would goto a doctor and they charge you $100 for 10 minute visit?? Still don't understand this concept??), each person who gets in using the flyer gets $2 off ($15) and $2 goes to the person who gave the flyer (which I never recieved any payment nor wanted any payment). In order to enter for the Car Show, its $25 and with the flyer you get $2 off ($23). So, in order for someone who helped passing out the flyers, they would need to bring at least 12 people if they want to enter the carshow for free (which is $15 x 12 = $180 - $24 you would pay the guy + $23 since you're taking the money back from the person who help (which they spend time passing out) = $179).. Hmm.. I dont know.. by my math, seems like you're getting the better end of the stick!! And that person who might help you even more by bringing a nice 3rd gen RX7.. Hmm.. even better end of the stick.. And that's just 12 spectators coming to your event!! Let see how it works out with 1/2 show cars and 1/2 heads up racers... ($23 x 6) + ($33x6) = $336 - $24 you pay out + $23 the helper pays you = $335!! Almost double the amount than getting spectators!! WOW!!!
As I asked you before, how much does it cost you to comp one person?? $3 your cost?? $10 your cost?? because by my math, you're doing pretty well by getting people to pay their way.. YOu know, I should try to plan an event like yours at MMP!!

Oh, by your previous statement about you not seeing any 7s except that one?? IF I recall, first event, There were at least 5 RX7s. 4 from this forum. One guy did the show and go and won it!! That reminds me, What happened to Show and Go?? Too cheap to have it again?? LOL!

Well, one more week until your event.. I do wish you luck!! Really, I do!! I just think this thread is entertaining how YOU professionals pick one person who said 'boycott' and rolled it all the way to this level. Word of advice! Deal with it outside of public! You could of easily just PM'd me and asked me why and I would of happily told you all this closed door. But when you start going back to old threads and trying to make me look bad, its just bad as "professional". Think about that next time! Is this thread really helping you guys?? Now its more of a damage control.
